i recently stayed for a week at the Las Avellanas Villas. It was my second trip to Costa Rica, returning after three years to purely to stay at the Las Avellanas Villas and soak up the surf, sun and natural beauty of the area.

i fully recommend staying at the Las Avellanas Villas with its relaxed atmosphere and its luxury comfort.

Easy to walk to the secluded beaches or hang out at lolas beach bar for a cold beer and great food.

Once again thanks for a great stay Las Avellanas - ill be back!

...but you don't get what you see on the pictures. We only booked one night with the intention to stay longer. But luckily it was only one night that we booked . We don't mind ants and other insects. But the surroundings \ garden were dusty, the cabins hot but with interesting architecture. The owners were very friendly. Unless you are a surfer and want to use the kitchen and there is not much need of comfort we can not recommend the place. And it is a bit expensive in comparison to other places.

Dear Knut,

we are very sorry, that you booked your trip to Avellanas in the driest and hottest time of the year .
Yes you are right that our nature is suffering from not having rain and it looks now different than in other parts of the country.
The north of Guanacaste is the driest part of Costa Rica and we have to be very careful and responsible with our water reserves.
From February to April we only can irrigate our garden 20 min per day. This is probably different than in your country Germany.
From May to December it rains more often and the surroundings and our garden are very nice and green. Mangos grow on the trees and flowers grow in the garden.
Our clients normally are very happy about the garden, the kitchen and our comfortable beds.

Its a great place to stay for at least a couple of days. The owner Isabel and the Roberto are super nice and welcoming! We called and dropped-in after a lobg12h drive and although Isabel was in San Jose, she was very quick putting me in contact with Robert and giving indications. When we arrived very kibdly they offered us a beer, thanks, just what se needed;)

The place is very clean, has towels and a is very nicely decorated minimalist and with photos taken by the owner which is also a photographer.

The size of the cabin is perfect for a romantic stay with your couple as well as for family and friends! It has a kitchen and big fridge so its very convenient to cook instead of going outside to eat, as meals are nice but expensive, in the restaurant 'cabinas las Olas' 2 main dishes and 2 drinks 40$. There is a small groceries at a 5 mins walk with all the necessary food ro cook, pasta vegies, spagettis, milk and not expensive at all.

It has a safety box which is great to store valuables and be relaxed when your out.

Also it is 10 mins walk from the beach so no need to use the car at all.

The only inconvenience is that the cabins are very close to eat other so you can hear the talking, music or people waking up.

Other than this it was a perfect stay!!;)thanks to both!

this cute place has 4 villa's witch are really nice and clean, the are functional design is marvels.
maybe because it's almost low season, but we didn't say the owners one, we only met a cleaning curl during check in, and didn't officially check out, we wrote a note, left money and a key. ( and a email adress but never heard from her again) but it is a NICE place!!
