Prabhawa Mountain day view point is at the highest part in Haputale. It is 1500 meters over the sea level and from there is possible to observe whole region around Haputale.

To get there you can walk through Dambatenna road and once you pass the Hindu temple you do meet some housed by the road. Interestingly an abandoned vehicle yard could be found on the right side of the road.A few steps further on the left side a foot path can be found which the entrance to Prabhawa mountain cliff is. Walk through the tea fields (there are off roads too)

Almost two hours of walk you will be at the point. Do not expect much of the guide. It repeats the same hundreds of time, because there is not harder of finding the way

Much to say about the mountain and the cross on top of it. Finally on top of the mountain the views are amazing. I studied on a blog that this place has been declared as a national park due to it’s flora and fauna. If you have plenty of time, this is a ideal outdoor activity in Haputale. We hiked as a group and really enjoyed the day.

When I read all the reviews etc it said that the Prabhawa view point trek was for all levels of fitness so we’re thinking,Hmm yes we can do it.We are both in our 50's and smokers and of relative fitness. We started out and when we were due to stop for a while we decided to keep going as it had been quite easy.OMG almost one and half hours directly uphill with plenty of walking through the tea fields.

It was the most amazing experience .We didn't actually go up the 45 min climb to Prabhawa View point in the morning as there was a lot of cloud and the views were not that great as we were told later by people who did go.We ended up going up

The highest peak on our walk and got great views from there.Awesome bucket list experience. The crossover of golden sunset and perfectly greenish mountain forms a magnificent view. This is what you cannot miss during prabhawa view point trekking ! We didn’t make it though early waking up in a very early morning, it is totally worth it !!!

You can only amaze the beauty of nature when the mountain turning into golden after the touch by the golden beam of sunset.

My wife and me like to hike, but do not get to do trails like this very often. We did this hike on a day when the temperature was in the mid 30s.That's a good thing because this hike was not challenging for us. But it was worth . By the time we reached the summit, we were pretty tired, but felt a tremendous sense of accomplishment --- not to mention the rewarding views on the way up and at the top.

Do yourself a favor and follow the recommendations. You need it, as well as some food or energy bars. One of the really cool things we experienced was the tremendous views. Along with us a lot of local people enjoying a beautiful area, interacting with us and offering help when others on the trail needed it. That was totally refreshing. I do not like heights much, but for me I recommend this hike,

We took about 3hrs to go up & down the mountain.

Went up the gravel road where a board has been erected identifying the walk to the kovil & walked down the steps/short cuts and ended up by the tiny cricket pitch and the 1/11 Mile Post on Dambetenna Rd.

Take a bottle of water, biscuits & a hiking staff if possible.

We couldnt find the kovil but we did make it to the top where we sat on a flat rock to take in the dramatic views over Haputale.

Best to visit early morning before its too warm.

Something for everyone, fitness enthusiasts can exercise in a safe beautiful place (climbing, walking), couples can find romantic spots and tourists can rest from the bustle of the city for a while and refresh themselves amidst the greenish tea fields.

The park is comprising of a quite big area and has a lot of lovely things to see. you can go walk around the off road or climb through the shortcuts . Visited here on a Sunday in October evening time though very sunny and beautiful.

We took photographs from few of eye catching points. We realized this is an isolated natural area and is not visited by tourists very often. It is so beautiful to see the sunset from this point. Worth visiting here
