We stayed in a 6 berth log cabin with hot tub (lush!)
Lovely location, some wooded areas to explore with the kids. We were only there for a long weekend and so unfortunately did not get any time to sign up to any of the many activities that were available on the complex.
Minor gripe.. we brought a Wii and DVDs (to entertain the kids) and we were pleased and surprised to see a Wii already integrated with the TV. However we could not get either it or the Wii we brought to work and there was no DVD player.
We called the reception for advice and they said they would send someone round to take a look... we had to chase them after a while as nobody turned up. When they finally did they shrugged and said that the Wiis were "probably" disabled when they had new "Hospitality Mode" TVs installed. He said HDMI should still work (no good for Wiis). He said he would check and let us know - but that was the last we heard.
Other than that though everything was as expected - very comfortable and the hot tub was very nice, despite the bad weather!

Thank you for your review following your recent break at Forest of Dean. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay although we apologise for our team member not getting back to you. We don’t have DVD players in our cabins, but our upgraded In-Cabin Entertainment Package gives you access to 120 films as well as high speed Wi-Fi, so you can stream on-demand TV and films too. Some cabins also have a media hub, with various connections for devices, although you need to bring your own cables. Despite the problems, we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your holiday and we hope to see you again in the future.

Stayed here for 4 nights over the long Easter weekend with my wife and two children aged 6 and 9. Check in was straightforward and informative, also we did it online so it sped things up. We had cabin 59 which was ideally located in a quiet area of the park with the decking and hot tub completely private overlooking the Forest.
There's a shop onsite which stocks the essentials albeit as expected a little pricey there is also a small grocery store across the road from the entrance called The Dairy which we used a few times, for a more substantial shop Tesco Express in Coleford in 5 mins drive away.
Cabin looked great... spacious , warm at all times via underfloor heating, despite it being cold outside with a cosy log burner ( you need to buy the logs from the on site store). The Jacuzzi was ace, really warm and relaxing and easy to operate. We used it a lot !
We also had a few good walks starting from paths alongside and behind the archery and climbing activity zones.
An excellent day out was at Puzzlewood forest which is just 15 mins drive and is well worth it but try it on a dry day as it's very slippy and muddy.

Overall a great stay, we will be back!

We had one of the best weekends at the Forest of Dean. The cabin lodge was spacious, clean, comfy and had a fab view (we didn’t request a specific location), I would recommend doing a food shop before you get there as the add ons during the stay are very over priced. We pre booked the night vision walk which was great fun. Jerry our forest ranger was lovely. We were glad we booked the cabin with a hot tub, it made the weekend especially as a lot of the activities onsite are for children. My one tip is to only rent bikes if you’re prepared for a lot of up and down hills (we were not fit enough). Overall fab weekend with friendly staff. I would stay here again but at a diff location to try something new.

We stayed in the Golden Oak Cabin, it had a log burner as well as the hot tub so we could go into the forest searching for logs! The cabin had everything we needed for a great stay.
However, the lady who checked us in was rude and uninformative, I asked about a credit that had been put on our account and she told me it was £10 when it was actually £20!
The bedding was clean but the bins were very dirty, the dust pan was broken ( they did change it straight away when I asked) there was no head on the mop and the floors were filthy!
It would have been so much easier if there had been a small vacuum cleaner available!

Room Tip: The cabins in the woods are great!
