Starters and burgers were good, but the steak and ale pie was great, and the cheese and onion pie was fantastic

The Dunn Cow is a lovely country pub that serves great food. Service was excellent. The manager keeps a close eye on everything. Sit at the front of the pub if you can as I think it’s nicer. Very good value and highly recommended.

Had a very nice meal with the family, mixture of adult and kids meals that were all good. Worth mentioning the manager who was very knowledgeable and welcoming.

Decided to stick a pin in a map and go somewhere new for lunch. Reading the previous reviews I wasn't surprised by the warm welcome we received when we arrived and was allocated a table straight away. I do believe the sign of a good restaurant is the way they deal with problems, ours arose when we ordered the Cheese & onion pie, it was disappointing they sent something from the kitchen which was obviously burnt to a crisp and could have been bowled at the first 11 of any decent cricket club it was replaced without question. Damage done unfortunately as you don't get a second chance at a first impression. Personally I wouldn't go again but I certainly wouldn't recommend others from trying it.

Sorry about the Cheese and onion pie.

Damage done.

Sometimes its as simple as that.

I'm glad we were able to rectify even though you'd already decided you wouldnt be coming to the Dun Cow again.

I've decided to send any reject pie portions to Toft Cricket Club for bowling practice.

Thanks for the review

We eat here regularly because the standard has always been good, whatever we've had.The food is simple and made on the premises and the portions are generous. The fish and chips is an excellent treat since we don't eat chips normally and the pies are good with lots of gravy. At the other end of the scale the risotto is also very good. The couple that run the restaurant seem anxious to ensure you enjoy your meal and are very welcoming.
