This is a charming small hotel, a 19th-century villa, in the top of the hill with an amazing view to the beach. The place is very quiet, ideal to sleep, read, write and relax. The hotel has no restaurant but you can order breakfast and there's a small "self-service" bar in the garden. There's no swimming pool which can be quite nice when you are looking for silence and relaxing time. Beach is 5 minutes walking distance (its a demanding climbing up when returning back to the hotel) but its worthwhile.

A very pleasant old building in a superb location overlooking the inlet in the Basque coast that is Lekeitio. The appartment we occupied for the night was well equipped and comfortable - unfortunately the bedding was damp needed a good airing. Breakfast was fresh squeezed orange juice coffe and croissants - basic but good. Staff were pleasant and friendly. Had first been to Lekeitio 65 years ago and it seemed pleasantly the same.

Room Tip: Be sure to get rooms with a town or sea view - thats what Villa Itsaso is all about

This was a great place to stay. Beautiful views of the ocean and the town, a 10-15 min walk to town, and great terrace to sit with a glass of Txakoli and take in the peaceful setting. The rooms were comfortable - we had one of the 3 rooms in the new annex - modern shower, with an AC unit. Highly recommend for a stay in the Basque region and much more pleasurable than staying in the main towns. Not a lot of foreign tourists which was a nice break!

Starting in Bilbao and wanting to visit Guernica, we were looking for a town to finish our bike ride of the day and just picked Lekeitio because the distance fit. The apartment in Hotel Villa Itsaso also seemed a nice fit. DUMB LUCK ! The apartment is fabulous, the location of the Villa in Lekeitio is superb, and Lekeitio is a NICE town to visit.
Hotel staff is super friendly and forthcoming.
The apartment's kitchen was fully equipped and the apartment felt very comfortable. But what is most amazing is the slightly set-apart location of the Villa, which reminded me of a very civilized version of a country club (not a club person, but that's what I imagine what they should be like ;-)
Perfect for relaxation, as many naps as one wants, watching the ocean, watching sunrise AND sunset over the ocean (at least on June 21 ;-), walking or cycling into town or to the beach. This is one of those places I definitely will come back to!
Muchas Gracias !

Room Tip: pick your priorities: kitchen, ocean view, balcony, pick your priorities or just get all in one.

This ancient villa lies outside Lekeitio on a nearby hill. This offers magnifcient views and tranquility but also short hikes to/from the village. As there are no meals served, the next possibility for breakfast or dinner would be in the village across the bridge. As the villa, the garden and the view is extraordinary, the rooms are not - small, humid and basic with shared bathroom underneeth the stairway. We know about the difficulties in changing an ancient villa into a hotel, but here the owner still has a lot of work to do, if he's interested in.

Room Tip: Front view rooms are not so humid, but expensiv.
