We, three couples, stayed one Friday night. The price was reasonable and our rooms were very comfortable, clean and quiet, with private baths. The staff was polite and helpful. Besides the hotel's restaurant, there is a bar with tapas on the lower level with tables on a quite street. Wonderful to sit and have a glass of wine. The wi-fi was a bit weak in the bedrooms because of stone construction but there were numerous comfortable sitting areas where there was excellent reception. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay within budget and yet have a very comfortable stay. Note: no elevator. There are some stairs to climb but not bad.

Attractive and atmospheric. Our room was a little dark but comfy. They did have a small space at the top which had the best view but it was used for the airconditioning units. Good breakfast and friendly staff.

This is a hotel with a lot of history and soul. The building and accommodations are very traditional and most beautiful.

The service was great, with a very friendly and helpful staff.

Make sure you catch the tasting of the house wine while there.

If we visit the Rioja region again we will be back to this hotel.

La Guardia is on a hill top and this hotel was built at the time of the King James bible so enter and you are steeped in tradition. The roads fit for cart and no place for a car, the rooms built for the shorter people of the age and make no concession to the modern age ( even if ever so slightly belied by angled photographs and shelves described as desks). And I should have read the TA reports we had room 23!
But this old feel is actually old and the whole place resonates with the bygone age. The paneled walled dining rooms offered a nice but pricey dinner and a la carte breakfast was a bit limited although nicely presented. The building spans a block so the bodega on the next street is reached by a stone floored passage. It made a welcome wine and tapas alternative to dinner. All in all the tradition was worth it if only to say.... Seen it! Done it!

I have been to Posada Mayor de Migueloa 4 times and have always been happy to return. The location cannot be better as it is in the heart of this typical medieval village which is still surrounded by walls and close to all local amenities. The Hotel has its own cellar they produced their own wine. You can visit the cellar anytime. Being a family owned Inn you always get that extra personalised attention, very strange nowadays. The rooms are comfortable, good size, delightful decorated and bearing in mind the building dates from 1600, the rooms are very easy to access. The hotel has their own restaurant and wine tasting sessions can always be scheduled. Not possible to top it in the surroundings.

Room Tip: Rooms facing Patio de la Violetas are quieter
