Description: The Twice Brewed is set amongst some of the most breathtaking scenery in England and stands in the shadows of Steel Rigg, without doubt one of the most dramatic parts of Hadrian’s Wall. The Inn is situated on the B6318 (The Military Road) midway between Newcastle Upon Tyne in the East and Carlisle in the West and is close to all the main Roman sites – Vindolanda, Housesteads and The Roman Army Museum. The Inn is on the popular Pennine Way route and welcomes walkers with a drying room and other facilities. We are also on the Hadrians Cycleway (Route 72) and near the Sandstone Way cycle route. We are 4 miles away from Haltwhistle train station and 15 miles away from Hexham train station

This is a great place to eat, especially if you're walking the Hadrian's Wall Path and have worked up an appetite. They serve good ales and excellent pub food. We heard that they're under new management as of the summer of 2015. Don't know what the food was like before, but it's really good now. We especially enjoyed the haggis wrapped in a flattened chicken breast and English bacon. Their rib-eye steaks were great, too, and cooked exactly as ordered (medium rare). But the highlight of both our evening meals (we ate here twice) was the sticky toffee pudding. My husband and I tried this dessert at several places in England, but the Twice Brewed Inn had the best version of it we ever tasted, with a separate warmed butterscotch sauce to pour over the pudding. With vanilla ice cream, this is a dessert to die for. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed but lively. Great place for dinner. Highly recommended!

We have visited this place many times over the years, it is a nice friendly Pub/ Restaurant with a very nice menu and a good choice of real ale on tap.

Nice little find after a few hours at the Roman Fort nearby. Staff friendly food looks good (but we did not eat). would certainly eat there if I was back in the area

After a long trek we wanted to have a farewell meal with our walking companions. Various other hikers that we had passed on the way recommended this establishment and we were not disappointed. The twice cooked pork belly was excellent and the steaks were also good. The service was good but I do agree with another reviewer that a bit of help would be appreciated.
