We chose to stay outside of Galway to get a feel for some other cities instead of being in the hustle and bustle of Galway, and I'm so glad we did. Barna was a quaint port town with friendly locals. We stayed at Abbeyville, which was easy to find, onsite parking, and was in walking distance to some good restaurants and the coast.
The owner was exceptionally welcoming and attentive. The B&B is on the small side so it was nice to meet some of the other guests over breakfast. The room was a perfect size for my husband and I with a bathroom inside of the room, including a hair dryer.
The breakfast was delicious, and she offered so many options. We chose the traditional Irish breakfast since we hadn't had one yet, and it was spot on!
Our stay and experience was flawless, and I would recommend staying here if you find yourself looking for a quieter alternative to staying in Galway. We were only a 12 mile drive from Galway so we were able to take a taxi to and from the city for a night out. (Which I recommend as well... but we'll save that for another review!)More
