We planned to explore the Connacht region and Abbeyville was a good location for us. Drove to Cong, Cliften, Connemara, the fjord at Leenaun, and also to the ferry at Doolin to spend a day on the largest of the Aran Islands, Inis Mor. Easy access to Galway... it’s all right there if you are driving... not much of interest to walk to. Host is cheerful and accommodating. A good value for travelers with wheels!

From the minute my wife and I arrived at Abbeyville and met with the owner Bernadette and showed to our room we knew that we had hit the jackpot. Certainly over the next seven days we were not disappointed, cleanliness was one hundred per cent, bed can be described home from home. We looked forward to the Breakfast each morning, first class Irish fry with all the trimmings, and the fresh home made scones each morning were to good to resist. Nothing and I mean nothing was to much trouble for Bernadette, friendly family loving woman who showed the same to her guests. The only down point to our stay, was having to leave for home. This lady made our holiday in Galway one of the best we ever had, and alough we traveled well around Galway, Connemara and parts of Mayo we will be back. Thank you, Norman and Hazel McElroy M.B.E.
