Definitely worth a visit if you are at all interested in art. This museum houses a decent sized collection of western art. In my mind an ideal size - big enough to satisfy and make it worth it but not so big that you get bored or overwhelmed. There are some big names and beautiful paintings in the collection.

I liked it so much! And found unfair that such a nice museum is not well advertised, and does not appear in the Top10 Tokyo attractions, where its place should be! Interesting building, nice sculptures inside and outside, beautiful paintings, many impressionists in the permanent collection... In addition, I had the chance to see the special exhibition Prado Velasquez, open by 27 May. Fabulous! if you have the chance, go to see it!

This place is highly recommended for ppl who are interested in Monet, Renoir, and Rodin. Museum has lots of art pieces and is good place to travel quite and calm. However, the moving line inside museum is quite confusing and space is too vast.

This is one of the first interesting things you see when entering Ueno Park. The building is modern and squarish which is appropriate for a museum of western art. Located outside the museum is a garden with copies of some European masterpieces. The cost of entering the museum is 500 Yen for adults. Cameras cannot be used inside.

Within the museum is a cafe which is nice to take a rest after walking around the Ueno Park and the museum, and there is a gift shop. The museum is nice but not overly impressive but definitely worth a visit.

We have visited the Western Art Museum a number of times. This time it was for the Prado Velasquez exhibit . WithThe audio guides it was a plus.
