One of the oldest and most famous temples/shrines in Japan, it is breathtaking to see first hand. So many centuries of culture represented here and along the narrow streets in front of it and behind it are literally 100s of souvenir shops with everything imaginable for tourists.

There are so many prefectures in Tokyo to visit and we did quite a few but I highly recommend Asakusa for its unique blend of old and new. It’s busy but relaxed if that makes sense. We saw a Japanese wedding ceremony, a bridal couple in a rickshaw and then we saw a dozen people riding Mario carts through the streets...... go figure!

Great place for shopping, food or simply just wondering around. Friendly feel and very Tokyo. Finding parking might be a problem so if you can get here via subway or by bus.
