The Villa Fontaine is a modern hotel situated not too far away from a train station on the Yamanote Line, so it's very convenient for tourists holding a Japan Rail Pass. The hotel itself is fairly new and offers good value for money.
The open air atrium means it's quite cold when you leave your room.
There are plenty of convenience stores within walking distance which may provide a good alternative to the less-than-great complimentary breakfast. Their breakfast room is the entrance hall and they try to accommodate both Japanese and Western style. It was not too impressive but that was a common pattern in all the hotels we stayed in in Japan. So yes, don't count too much on that and grab something on the go.More
