Lovely place. Not just the top quality of dishes, but also the serving style, atmosphere, and special location on top of Tokyo, made this my favorite memory of the last business trip.

This chef has worked in London. Junichi Onuki greets us as we enter the restaurant. There are 8 seats at the counter and two tables of 4, for a total of 16 spots. We will have Omakase again, chef’s choice. The experience is very different from Yasuda. The meal stars with a sea whelk served in its shell. Then comes steamed octopus in a sweet soy-based broth. Both are delicious. We are then served a succession of sashimi pieces. Obviously, the fish is of top quality and is sliced before our eyes. Red snapper, sea bream , mackerel and other varieties are laid before us one after the other. The fish is simply consumed with wasabi or salt, depending on the selection and a bit of soy sauce. Next comes the grilled dish. Hair tale fish. A kind of very ugly eel looking fish. Simply grilled and simply delicious. After the grilled dish we get a succession of nigiri: marinated tuna, horse mackerel, red clam, white shrimp, tiger prawn, medium fatty tuna, seared red snapper and some that I have already forgotten. The rice is outstanding and the freshly made wasabi balances it all. No need to dip the pieces in soy sauce as the chef carefully brushes the required amount on each piece. The meal is ended with a miso soup made with a fragrant seafood base and tiny, miniature mussels. Accompanied with fresh dry sake, this was another meal to remember.

Easily, one of the best experiences in Tokyo. English speaking Sushi Chief shares his love and passion for fresh.

The chiefs menu was not only perfectly planned, but an more than enough food for even the hungriest.
