“A little piece of cosiness in Downton”
Reviewed 13 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

We have just a day left of our holiday stay at Little Terraces and just had to write this review before we leave.

First of all the location is great - just 5min walk to the nearest pub, shop, chemist and fish & chip takeaway. It's also a great place to access other neighbouring villages, as well as Salisbury. We took a trip to Bath on the train which was an hour away.

The cottage itself is really well equipped and the log burner so homely. Other than buying food for breakfast etc we haven't had to provide anything. We had our 10 week old baby with us too and the travel cot fitted in the bedroom perfectly.

Our stay felt like home from home and despite the rainy weather we had a fabulous time. Lots of information provided about the village and New Forest and where to eat etc. We had a tasty curry from Sherkhan takeaway in Redlynch, definite thumbs up as well as fish and chips in the village.

Overall if you're looking for a quiet stay for 2 in the New Forest then definitely consider Little Terraces. You don't go to many places and hear owls twit twooing on your doorstep. A lovely little quirk to our stay. Thank you Sue for welcoming us to a little haven in Downton.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. One of the real pleasures, now that the weather has turned to autumn, is relaxing in the cosy warmth and glow of the wood burner on the comfy sofa. I am really pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Sue

“If Carlsberg did cottage rentals........”
Reviewed 4 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

We have just returned from a 3 night break at Little Terraces cottage and just felt I needed to review this lovely place. From our initial booking we were made to feel welcome by the owner Sue. The cottage was very welcoming and extremely well equipped - lots of little touches that made it feel home from home.- we will definitely return. It was also spotless and I must say the bedding was really crisp white & v comfy. We were lucky enough to be there when one of the local pubs had a fire work display - we watched the fire works from the top terrace with a nice bottle of wine - we had a great vantage point! The local pub the wooden spoon was v welcoming too - they gave our puppy a lovely beef bone to keep him amused.

Many thanks for taking the time to post this review and for your lovely comments. How fantastic to get a free bone and firework display all in one weekend. Downton is such a fun village. One of the really good weekends to visit is May Day Bank Holiday when the annual Cuckoo Fair is held. Many stalls fill the main street, there is a procession, dancing and lots to do. I hope you can come and stay with us again one day. Sue
