The hotel itself is pretty basic, but comfortable enough. The only room available was a larger one that included an extra room with bunk beds - as I was travelling alone it was a bit annoying having to pay the extra for this so I'd highly recommend booking ahead.
The wifi didn't work the entire time I was there (my guess would be that my room was out of range) and the whole room reeked of fish, whether the windows were opened or closed. It did have a neat little heater though that worked brilliantly.
There was no elevator and several flights of narrow stairs, so be prepared for that. There's rarely anyone at reception, and be prepared to wait a while if they're in conversation with someone else. They seemed a bit rude and abrupt to me, but I suspect that was more of a cultural difference than actual lack of hospitality.
The staff were lovely at breakfast, and I found it to be great value. It was also such a delight sipping coffee while looking out over the bay; such a gorgeous, serene place, even with the breakfast bustle.
Not the greatest place if you plan to spend a lot of time in your room, but why would you when the island itself is so beautiful? This place provides a bed and a shower, and that was enough for me.More
