We were warmly welcomed by the charming and very helpful host. The accommodation is comprehensive and comfortable in a tranquil setting. As we were staying for a few nights, we had reserved a room with direct access to a personal terrace - this proved to be well worthwhile. The centre of Le Palais is just a 15-minute stroll along a quiet, rural road (or 10 minutes via the main road). The hotel was clean and well-tended and services were managed exceptionally well. A generous Breton breakfast set us up for the day. Good WiFi in our room and terrace and throughout all the other areas that we used. We would be delighted to return.

We were on Belle-îsle-en-Mer this week for a short getaway from Saint-Nazaire. I needed to have web connection during the trip, so we picked this hotel partly for its available wifi. From the moment we arrived, the wifi didn't work and it was clear that it wasn't us...we could connect from our phones and laptops but couldn't get an Internet signal.

We told the owner, who (a bit suspiciously) immediately went to his own laptop and said, "Look, mine works." We asked if he could look into it, and he said, "Not if mine works."

The next morning, I asked him again if he could look into it, as I had pressing work to do, and he said, "Mine works" and this time showed me his phone. I said, "But mine doesn't and I'm the guest." He replied, "Well, mine works." We checked with other guests but none had tried to use the wifi.

Frustrated, we checked out, but he charged us the travel agent fee (17 euros higher) even though we directly booked with him and sarcastically said, "Au revoir, Mr. Taylor." Awful service.

Just spent a wonderful 6 days on the beautiful island of Belle Ile. We chose Hotel Le Clos Fleuri because of the previous reviews and were not disappointed. The hotel is very peaceful, being just outside Le Palais. The walk into town takes between 10 to 15 minutes. No pavement, but the roads were not busy. Cedric was very welcoming, collecting us from the port, suggesting some excellent places to eat (La Sarrasine became a firm favourite for crepes and galettes) and giving us advise on the best places to visit on the island. Our room was a good size, with a small patio area and the beds were extremely comfortable. We felt genuinely welcome at the hotel and would definitely recommend it as a place to stay whilst on Belle Ile. I can thoroughly recommend the hot chocolate. We are all grateful to Cedric and Joelle for their genuine care of us during our stay.

The walk from La Palais to the hotel isn't far, but it can be a little uncomfortable with heavy car traffic or carrying bags.

The hotel itself is well done and has an authentic vibe. The hosts are very kind people and were helpful getting us oriented on the Île.

The room was a little tight, but had everything we needed and the common areas were large enough to spread out a little.

Breakfast was also a nice spread of local products which was much appreciated.

We recently spent four days in the lovely Hotel Le Clos Fleuri on Belle-Ile En Mer,
the extraordinarily beautiful and charming island off the west coast of Brittany. The
hotel's owners - Cedric and Joelle - recently acquired the hotel. They could not
have been more welcoming . Cedric provided us with superb restaurant recommendations. We didn't rent a car. Instead we relied on the excellent
bus service ( the major stop is 5 minutes walk from Le Clos Fleuri ) or walked for mile salong along the coastal walkway which rings the entire island. We had expected the island to be crowded with tourists - our visit coincided with the first week of the August holidays - but it didn't feel that way. And we barely heard English spoken - mystifying considering the beauty of this place.
