Ranked #15 of 19 things to do in Campos
Reviewed 17 October 2014

This is a small area of bizarre rock formations; the soft limestone is eroded into narrow towers separated by thin slots. One can wander through the maze of this formation with the help of tunnels built by British miners. The stone is alternately grey and brilliant orange because of iron deposits. The nearby town of San Nicolas del Puerto has a large spring whose waters force their way down a series of waterfalls outside of town. All this is at a higher altitude, and cooler than most of Andalucia.
