The beautiful grounds is what first hits you. Up a steep hill and quite secluded this hotel is great for a restful holiday. The monkeys visit you every day which is amazing...the hotel cockrel not so great at 5am though but hey ho. The rooms are a great size with walk in showers lovely products in the bathroom and great aircon. We ate so well at every meal time and there was something for everyone...prepare to put on weight you will enjoy doing it. The staff are just so helpful and friendly they really make this hotel special. The pool is gorgeous and they just started aquasize classes when were there which i enjoyed. The spa is beautiful. The shuttle service to the beach was perfect for us as to be honest we would prefer to be on the beach. The actual beach you go to is stunning and you can take a packed lunch and drinks are provided for the duration. We thought this was a great reliable service which for us was needed. The shuttle will take you to speightstown and collect you too. You can walk down the hill to a small beach and port st charles area. You must do the glass bottom boat trip too which is inclded. Saw turtles with the general which was fab . Had a lovely relaxing time so thanks very much to everyone at sugar cane club

We had an amazing time at the sugar cane hotel. Rooms, food, staff, hotel gym, spa were all top notch as far as I was concerned. Maybe not 5 star when you look at the components individually, but facilities were definitely four star and the staff are five star plus!
Many thanks to

In fact all the staff too numerous to mention who made it a really special holiday. If my wife hadn’t already booked a vacation for early next year we would be going back. We will definitely go back to the sugar cane if we go back to the island.
Thanks again from the couple in 301!

Great place to stay if you want a relaxing break, staff really friendly and local beach is brilliant, food plentiful and even the guests are friendly, good location for just chilling out catching some rest and the rooms are ideal, no children a bonus for middle aged couples who just want to relax, even the drivers that take you on local trips are warm and friendly, even saw a mongoose in the garden and hummingbirds , the friendly cockerel is often around most of the day !! Well worth the stay and should have gone for longer, one lady told me she goes for a month at a time !!

We had a great holiday at this hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel does need a little bit of updating but on the whole it is a little gem set back in a gully. The beach they take you to is Reed beach and it is one of the best beaches on the island, very private and good for snorkelling.
A few tips for you, take your own towel as you only get 1 towel each and the sun beds are quite big. Make sure you have plenty of insect repellent and ones that contain Aloe Vera as the mozzies don’t like that smell.
The gully walk and glass bottom boat trips are excellent and not to be missed, they are free as the hotel provides these. The gym, squash court and table tennis table are all in good condition and easily assessable, which are great when it rains.
A couple of things we would have liked to make this holiday perfect was more Barbadian food on the menu and ice cream available during the day. The food is freshly made and lovely but would have been nice to taste the local food or have it on the menu as a chefs special.
Would recommend this hotel and would go back again, a great relaxing holiday.

Just returned from 7 nights at the Sugar Cane Club and had a wonderful time.
As the other reviewers have said it is a little piece of paradise. Food choice is great, all the staff are friendly, helpful and happy.
We stayed in a one bedroom suite overlooking the gully. Room was clean and well equipped.
Loved the glass bottom boat trip with the General and saw three turtles. The gully walk with Rodney was great.
Beach house is lovely and the beach is beautiful. Drinks, sunbeds, umbrellas and snorkelling equipment supplied.
We hired a car for the day and managed to see many parts of this beautiful island.
This hotel is very quiet and there is not much nightlife, so if you are looking for a large hotel with nightlife then this place is not for you. It is a wonderfully relaxing place.
We thought the package we had was extremely good value for what you got and the only negative is we booked for 7 nights and not more.
Thank you Sugar Cane Club.

Room tip: Room 209 was great
