Hi Matt,
What an ‘excellent’ review – thank you, means a lot to us all!
Hope to see you again soon with all of the events we have planned over the summer – and of course, as always, always included in the entry price! Can we tempt you to buy Annual Passes – 96p a week?
We hope so!
Circus Week – 24-30 July 2017 – 4 shows a day
Dinosaur Maze, Tran Your Dinosaur & Dino Dodge – 31 July- 3 Sept 2017
Pond Dipping Week – 7-13 Aug 2017
Thanks again Matt,
With best wishes,

Walby Farm Park is a farm attraction ten mins outside of Carlisle in Cumbria. Throughout its moderate sized grounds it offers a variety of experiences for families, and particularly young children, to interact with farm animals and vehicles. Visitors are spoilt for choice with options including 'Meet the animals' where you can stroke and feed rabbits and guinea pigs; goat racing, where you can check out the racing form of the resident goats and JCB play area where you can get your hands on some construction equipment. If the weather is a bit wet and cold (which can often happen in Cumbria) there is a large indoor soft play area and cafe which serves home made local produce. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, with regular announcements to ensure you don't miss any of the activities. The farm is extremely well maintained with clear signage and a handy map so that you won't get lost. Families visiting the Lake District should definitely pay a visit when experiencing lake fatigue.
Pros + Lots of hands on experiences, friendly staff and well maintained, plenty of indoor and outdoor space for children to run around, educational as well as entertaining, ideal for birthday parties, disabled access.
Cons - Farm Park shop has limited Walby Farm branded items to purchase, visitors without children who are unable to embrace their 'inner child' may find the activities underwhelming.
Insider Tip = If your family name is Walby you can get in free if you ask nicely!
NB. Although a member of the Walby family I am in no way affiliated with the Walby Farm Park; sadly :(
Hi Michael,
WOW,
What a fun, well-written and professional review – amazing, thank you so much!
With very best wishes from an “extremely friendly and helpful” ‘Team Walby’
P.S. we’re working on our Walby Farm Park branded items and hope we can all continue to embrace our inner child!
my grandchildren love it here. the main attraction for them is the petting animals and the ability to run around safely. We have been when it has rained and they have plenty of sheds and activities to stop the children from getting bored. The down fall for me is the price of enteries especialy when the adults arent able to take part in the activities available and there is are certain entertainments that are wanted to participate in that aslo cost. Maybe if the entrace fee was lowere or adullts only paid a small fee we would then feel obliged to spend more in the restaurant and shop. Over all a great day out and the staff are lovely.
Hello Sarah,
Really lovely to hear such a super review for the Trip Advisor community.
Our favourite attraction is still our animals – so it is really great to hear that’s what you grandchildren enjoy too! We hope to hear that all of our adult visitors have enjoyed the Daily Farm Activities too, including Travis & Trudy’s Tractor & Trailer Ride – through our red deer enclosure and into the livestock fields – the tractor and trailer ride is included in the cost of Walby Farm Park as we hope it’s accessible to everyone. Even our adventure play area and slides in our Play Barn are open to adults – I think the oldest person we know of to go down them is 78!
The smaller rides that are only for children of particular ages we charge separately for (£1 a ride) as we feel it would be unfair to include these in the entry costs for everyone, when everyone can’t use them.
The only other entertainment that we have charged for in the past are Bonfire Night – a separate evening event and at Christmas time a visit to see Santa.
Our team are of course delighted you found them to be ‘lovely’ – we’re biased but we agree!
Thanks again for a 5-star review!
With best wishes,
‘Team Walby’, Neil & Katie
Although pricey it really is a great day out for the family! If you live locally getting a membership seems like a great deal. We had a party here and everything ran smoothly and staff where all very pleasant.
Hello and thank you for recommending us as a “great day out for the family”!
You’re quite right, our Annual Passes are £50 for the full year – just 96p a week each so they are great value if you can visit us come 6 or more times a year.
We hope you enjoyed all of our Daily Farm Activities and we hope to see you again soon – there’s lots on over the summer – Circus Week, Dinosaurs and Pond Dipping for even more value for money.
Thank you again and so pleased you enjoyed your Party!
With best wishes,
‘Team Walby’, Neil & Katie
We came for a family day out for the 3rd time and enjoyed every minute. All ages in our group. The youngest ones loved feeding the lambs and petting the goats and their new born kids. All the staff especially Shosh work very hard to be informative and make sure everyone is included and has a good time. Lots of other things to do apart from all the animals, go-carts, swings, indoor play area and cafe, trampolines and loads of other things but the animals are the girls favourite and we had to tear them a way at the end of the day. we will be back again soon.
Hi Amand1302,
It was great to see you again, we’re always thrilled to see familiar faces returning. Thank you for your kind words and look forward to seeing you again.
With best wishes,

We visited Walby Farm Park on our way back to the North East from the Lakes. We were a little worried as the weather wasn't great but we had promised our eldest son we could visit. It didn't disappoint. Despite the weather much of the attraction is indoors which meant we could walk outside between rain falls to ensure we got the most from the park. The Easter egg hunt was a nice little extra and this ensured that we visited all areas of the park. The staff were very pleasant and informative. The food in the cafe was excellent and decent value for money. I got a BBQ baguette with side salad and coleslaw for less than a fiver.
Hello Gavin S,
Thank you for your review. We know the weather can be a bit unpredictable in Cumbria, which is why we make sure there’s plenty to do whatever the weather decides to do. We’re very happy you like the café. We work hard to offer fresh food for an affordable price.
With best wishes,
