Our first stop for camping on the Hadrian's wall path. We were made feel most welcome when we rang the owner to book in on the day of our arrival.Despite arriving 3hours later than expected we were welcomed with open arms and had the place to ourselves.This is a very organised medium sized campsite and had more than enough space four our 2 man hikers tent! There is an honesty box right beside the site which provided us with much needed refreshments before settling down for the night. Despite being close to Carlisle Airport and neighbouring fields of sheep it was a very silent nights sleep.The pitches are well laid out and would also be ideal for caravans with plenty of power points provided. The ground was level and soft which is just what you need for camping!The toilet and shower block is very clean and spacious too with lots of hot water. We paid the owner the next morning a very very reasonable price of £10 for both of us and we had a great chat too and he offered us plenty of advice and local knowledge on the path. This is a lovely,clean,welcoming and scenic place to camp and I cant recommmend it highly enough especially for weary hikers!Thank you

We stopped here whilst walking and camping along Hadrian's Wall. Shower/toilet facilities are in a cabin, but they are very good (1 shower, 2 toilets, 2 wash basins). There is also a hair drier and even a set of hair straighteners, which really impressed my girlfriend! The other section of the cabin is a small room with some tourist information leaflets. Andrew, the owner, was nice and friendly. I'd advise having your dinner before you arrive because the nearest place is Crosby-on-Eden (30-45 minutes walking) for dinner, although takeaway is probably also an option.

I stopped here in August while walking Hadrian's wall (West to East). Although I'd not booked Andrew was most welcoming and showed me to the camp area. There are some gravel spaces for mobile homes and power hook up, but also some nice flat and dry grassy areas.

The campsite has a warm shower and toilets and a dish washing area plus of course a fresh water supply.

ITs very remote and no local pub, so bring your own food and cooking facilities. The view from the campsite is amazing with huge open skies. If it fits your walking plans this is a site ell worth spending a night at before heading into Carlisle or onwards towards GIlsland.
