Getting here may require taking a bus or taxi, but it is well worth it. The rooms are generous by Japanese standards. Hotel staff speak little English, but they are very helpful and resourceful. Breakfast is just the right amount of food (it came included in our booking through a travel website).
The bed is very comfortable (semi-firm double mattress with buckwheat husk and feather filled pillows) and the AC is quiet. Router, extension cables, router cables, blow dryer, water cooker, small refrigerator, and TV are all included. The curtains are almost blackout curtain quality and even though the hotel is right by a bus terminal, you can not hear any traffic noise.
We came here to see Osorezan and were pleasantly surprised with the Children's Nebuta festival (think Aomori or Hirosaki-style floats except made by and pulled by local kids). The festival is much smaller, but all the more cute and perfect for anyone who wants to experience Matsuri without all the huge crowds.More
