Whenever we visit Paciano, which is often, we snuggle into a hidden terrace at the foot of this gorgeous medieval town. Massimo the owner greets us with a broad grin, seats us at a table looking out over the valley and lago di Trasimeno, and our favorite culinary journey on the border of Umbria and Tuscany begins. Local dishes, freshly made pasta, flavors that could only come from locally sourced ingredients (and all of them are), a grand variety of dishes, whether smoked fish, grilled lamb, different kinds of fresh pasta with incredible yet simple sauces, and a panna cotta to die for. It is the kind of restaurant that lingers in your heart, with its warm owner and luxuriously rustic palate. We already promised Massimo we would be back next year. And we will!

We ate here twice and found it to be very good value. It is a small place, with an interesting Umbrian menu. The pasta dishes are hearty. I had the anchovy and fennel tagliatelle, which was delicious, but on the second visit, my partner ordered it and it was distinctly lacking in anchovies. The liver pate starter was excellent. I can also recommend the pigeon with olives, which was absolutely superb. The staff, including the owner are friendly and helpful and the wine list offers remarkably fair prices.

Had a lazy lunch here with the family. The food and service was excellent. The view over the local countryside is fab too. Highly recommended.

We arrived as a family of ten and were immediately greeted warmly by the owner and the waitress. We sat down and ordered a mixture of foods, from pastas to meat dishes. Despite being such a large group our food arrived quickly and boy was it delicious; it was light, fragrant and each dish had a little twist in, and all of the portions were extremely abundant. Some of us had dessert, and they all tasted exceptional, with the tiramisù and the pannacotta being served in adorable little jars, something none of us had seen before. Truly a wonderful experience and we will definitely be returning once again.

We had dinner with 6 adults, 4 children and 1 baby. We made a reservation in advance. They had set up the table beautifully.

As starter we ordered 2 different cheese/meat platters, the taleggio with fruits, ricotta, potato salad with fish and bruschetta. All tasted really well.

For the main we ordered pizza and pasta for the kids. They did not mind improvising a pasta pommodori for the kids.
The adults tried mainly the meat dishes with some sides.
Really tasty and all very fresh!

Good wine recommendations and they served a nice prosecco.

After we settled the bill and already left, the owner ran after us because he forgot to give the kids lollipops. Very attentive!

O, yes, I did not mention the view yet. Lovely view from the terrace!
