The Wilde Schwan is located in the middle of nowhere on Ruegen island, a short drive from the small village of Sagard. On turning into the area along what is a single track road which has seen better days, we were relieved by the appearance of the set of buildings which make up the hotel. Niceley kept grounds and attractive buildings are rather inviting. The staff speak enough English to cope with us, even with a little coaxing on both parts! The room, or should I say apartment we were allocated was very nice, very modern and well furnished. The bathroom was large with a very good shower, a small kitchen area with fridge and kettle, and a large room with bed, couch, tables and chairs, and plenty of room in between. We only stayed 2 nights, but it would be the kind of place to stay and make a full holiday, whether chosing to self-cater or not. We didn't eat in the restaurant other than breakfast, which was a typical European affair and very well stocked! I would love to visit again, and would recommend this to anyone staying in the area! The only thing to note is if you are a heavy Internet user, the tokens you are given on check in at the moment are limited to 500mb download, so streaming any evening entertainment or uploading the holiday snaps might be an issue, though I would like to think not a deal breaker.
