I've been there for work, not on Holiday; the place is nice overall in a country environment
Dinner and lunch are very good, typical food of this area, the breakfast doesn't follow the same it was ok but quite cheap and a lack of fresh food.
The room are ok but a bit basic. It's too much noisy for me because it's in the midlle of the countryside ... but hidden by the trees there is the motorway

Quaint old hotel. Established in the early 19th century
Very good Italian cuisine but not available every day (depends on the bookings)
Very clean and healthy surrounding
Large clean rooms, high ceiling - no fans or air conditioning but not necessary
Comfortable beds and pillows
Good bath tub and fittings
TV channels limited to Italian fare only. International programs are aired but dubbed in Italian
Dnner is pricey - celebrity chef !
Rooms have names (of past family members)
Limited number of people who can converse in English
Not suitable for movement impaired people (no elevators)
No laundry facility (and no launderomat)
If you stay here you need to have means of transport because it is a little away from town
Very close to the highway

Hotel is a in the countryside, which means it was nice a quiet. The decoration is to a high standard, but in a rustic design. The rooms were large and comfortable. The restaurant in the hotel was very nice. The wine menu was vast! Really good selection. Breakfast was simple, mainly pastries, baking etc. but the baking was very good as it was done by the restaurant chef.

We selected Relais Cascina Scottina by looking around Piacenza and the location of a concert we were to attend. We decided against Piacenza because the hotels seemed that they would be full of business people. This is a event location with 14 rooms, a large restaurant and a large banquet area. No pool, but too cold now anyway, but lots of seating outside in the afternoon sun. Surprise was the gourmet restaurant, Antica Osteria della Pesa, reviewed separately and as to which guests had a special 30 Euro per person menu, including wine, water and coffee,

Room Tip: rooms on the west side facing the courtyard are quieter. Near the autostrada but separated by large buffering mounds.

We were traveling from Florence to the Milan Malpensa airport and wanted to break up the drive. The autopista is a busy one between those two cities, full of trucks, and can be stressful, so a short overnight stop in the country can be a welcome break. The Relais is OK, in a country setting and very quiet. The furnishings have seen better days and there is no sense of luxury in the rooms at all. That said, the dinner at the Relais was outstanding. The three course meal with all the wine you wish at 30 euros is an excellent buy. The food was delicious, and the menu choices varied. Your wine is served by the glass, so you can mix and match glasses to fit the various dishes rather than being limited by ordering a bottler or two. Unfortunately, the quality and scope of food did not extend to the breakfast. The buffet was sparse and disappointing.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite. The price was fair (130 euros) but the furnishings were disappointing and the bathroom was cramped.
