We really liked the room. Bed frame was stained and covered with a towel. Food was alright, wouldn't say homemade as we were told at reception. However the main issue is the service. On arrival, no greeting, not told when dinner or breakfast was to be served.
Service for dinner was atrocious. Awkward and slow. When coming up to table to take order, she just stood and stared, could definitely do with a lot of hospitality training. As there were no check backs, poor with drinks orders or questions, asked if we wanted anything for dessert, 10minutes after clearing the main, while wiping a table behind us. Then once dessert was cleared no question if wanted anything else and had to be hunted down 20minutes later for the bill. We were the only two in the restaurant at this time.
The owner however interacted with us on the next day and was helpful with suggestions of where to eat, customer interaction was definitely better.
Gave us the front door key, in case we went "clubbing" after dinner.
Why was it an extra 10quid to stay on a Friday which seems unreasonable since the front door is locked and bar is shut at 10.48pm. Is it not Friday? Why are we paying £10 more? It's empty.More
