“Very well situated and put together”

Stayed here with my family over the Easter Break in 2015. Excellent communications from the owner prior to our stay and we were very warmly greeted on arrival.
The lodge has been superbly put together and the attention to detail is outstanding. This place was like a little home-from-home and is very comfortable for 5 people.
There are excellent family pubs nearby and many, many local attractions to visit for a full, fun day out.
Would definitely stay there again.

An exceptional clean and comfortable log cabin with all creature comforts. Good location and excellent views from cabin. Owners could not do enough to help before and during our stay. Would most definitely recommend this beautifully stylish hide away without hesitation.

“Comfortable, peaceful retreat”
Reviewed 21 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Our family enjoyed the comfort and luxury of our 3 night stay at the Apple Wood cabin. Everything that is needed on a short break was there for our comfort and enjoyment - warmth, facilities, peace - as well as the added extras of beautiful fresh flowers and freshly baked cookies on our arrival. Neeta and her husband were extremely friendly and welcoming. The proximity to Longleat was perfect for us to enjoy our two day excursion at the safari, park and house.
Many Thanks

“Exquisite... simply exquisite!”
Reviewed 28 October 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We were seeking a nice quiet break in the countryside, away from all the hustle and bustle, and our everyday routines. As we passed the beautiful greenery of the Stonehenge UNESCO World Heritage Site, we knew we were nearly there.

We stayed in the Honey Crisp cabin at The Apple Wood in September 2014. A small lighted driveway leads up to the cabin where you can park and unload your car effortlessly.

The exterior surroundings are large trees, beautiful open views and a feeling of absolute tranquillity. The beautifully built cabin stands alone with outside seating, lighting and privacy.

Through the double-doors, the first thing that strikes you is the sheer amount of space, and the three chandeliers symmetrically hanging down from the high ceilings. The cabin is laid out well, bright and airy, and draws in the green countryside via the large picture windows. There is a very spacious kitchen, dining room and lounge, and all the equipment and utensils you could possibly wish for, as well as a dining table that can easily accommodate 6 people comfortably. The fridge/dishwasher/washing machine takes care of the hard work, leaving you free to relax on the sofas in the lounge, listening to music on the stereo or watching terrestrial/satellite channels on the large flat screen television.

There are two double bedrooms, each with its own fabulous en-suite bathroom straight out of a glossy magazine! Fluffy towels, beautiful toiletries, large mirrors and handsome tiling surround you in a feeling of complete indulgence!

The beds (one double and two singles) are comfortable and each bedroom has a selection of lamps, lots of electrical sockets and a wall-mounted television.

The entire cabin has under-floor heating as well as a wood burner in the lounge! Hot water is also immediate 24 hours a day, and a very spacious modern bath in one of the bathrooms makes great use of this!

We certainly took the opportunity to explore the surrounding countryside, visiting Salisbury, Bath, Glastonbury and many local pubs and restaurants. It’s easy to research what you want to do, as there is literature re local attractions in the lounge, and Wi-Fi for your mobile/laptop to explore your own interests.

All-in-all, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves with the wonderfully positioned cabin and its well thought out facilities. Alan and Neeta, the hosts, were both welcoming and friendly, and on-hand if needed. We will be back again and have no hesitation in recommending it to others. It’s a gem!

“Cosily Comfortable, Tranquil Setting and Perfect Location”
Reviewed 26 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

The Honey Crisp cabin at Applewood made the ideal base for our autumn country family break. It is beautifully positioned in tranquil woodland that makes you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere - not right next to the A36! Hidden inside its modest exterior the accommodation is really spacious and modern with all the fittings and facilities you could wish for whilst giving a true feeling of cosiness that invites you to immediately shrug off daily life curl up and relax - helped by the underfloor heating and woodburner! The ensuite bathrooms particularly were a little bit of luxury. Everything had also been really well thought out for little ones including the travel cot and safety gates. Each window frames truly stunning views of the surrounding fields and woodland setting. Our little boy enjoyed looking out each morning to see the horses arrive at the back fence. Our hosts were really welcoming and on hand to quickly assist with any queries we had. Perfectly placed for Longleat and Bath we couldn't recommend The Applewood highly enough for a family break.
