There are two high-end hotels in Hanga Roa and the rest are pretty much identical.

Firstly, the staff was very efficient and friendly. The receptionist spoke English, they were quick to help us when the safe jammed in our room, and they greeted us at the airport with leis.

We were picked up in a four by four pickup and had to wait for another couple before we could leave. Rather than going straight to the hotel, the person who picked us up drove us around town and gave us a bit of an orientation tour. It was helpful, but make sure your Spanish is good!

The room was small, but fairly clean. I say fairly because the bathroom seemed a bit sandy and dirty.

Now for the cons:

Roosters run wild around the property. They crow loudly and often, and you will likely be woken up by them in the morning.

The hotel does NOT have a good relationship with its neighbors. We were in the corner room closest to the parking lot and were forced to listen to their loud music virtually all day, and until the wee hours of the morning. It is very loud. This alone may be a good reason to pick another hotel.

Note that while we reported the music to the hotel, they merely shrugged it off "We have problems with our neighbors" and the music did not stop.

Breakfast was extremely small (a piece of bread, cheese, meat, and a small cake). The coffee is instant.

All in all, not a bad hotel, but they need to make some sort of arrangement with their neighbors, because loud, repetitive music all night is no bueno!

Room Tip: Do not take the corner room!

The hotel is great, given that its on an island in the middle of nowhere, clean rooms, great breakfast, excellent attention and kindness from all the people working there and in general on the island, another point to take into consideration is that its like 2 blocks away from the mainstreet, so it could be more "quiet" at times but also means that you have to walk a bit, but since most things are at walking distance its not a big issue.

Its a little bit "pricy", but so is everything else on the island.

Definitively fits into the whole Easter Island Experience which is great in every sense, would come again to the island and probably to this hotel.

Room Tip: If you have bulky stuff to carry in an out of the room, you are better off on the first floor (I had a bulky stroller, that after day one decided to leave it at the lobby while at the hotel), plus you have a nice big terrace on the first floor In the second floor the balcony is smaller but the view is better than the first floor.

First I need to say that you cannot expect a lot from most of the hotels at easter island, most of them are average to good, except probably the most expensive ones, but those are way too expensive.
Having said that this hotel has 8 rooms and 2 cabins. We stayed at the cabins that are like small 2 floor apartments, but the first hours we were given a room since our cabin was not ready (check in was later). The rooms are nice and clean. The cabin too. You get a rather big fridge, a TV (although you have only 3 channels, well, you did not fly here to watch TV anyway), a gas kitchen/kitchenette and a lot of space for 3 people. On the first floor is the kitchen, dining, and living room. On the second floor are 2 rooms and the toilet with a bad/shower. A toilet on the first floor would have been very nice.
The rooms upstairs are adecuate, one with a queen bed the other with one single and one doublebed (one on top of the other).

It is supposed to be for a family, but if you have kids they did not watch the details. For example, the stair is difficult to climb and very dangerous for small children. The same for the windows on the first floor, if open, children may fall when walking through, since the step going outside is double sized.

The cabin was serviced only every other day, that should be every day. Breakfast was ok, a fresh juice (very good but too little), and bread with cheese and ham. Some fruit would have been lovely but you can buy that anyway.

The hotel is about 2 block from the main street and 2 blocks from the shore, for the beach you have to walk another 2 blocks.

Tips:
Get a kitchen here or on any other hotel. Food is extremely expensive so you better cook for yourselves.
May is windy and rainy.
Get some trekking shoes, windjacket and sunglasses.

Room Tip: All locations are similar, get the cabin since there you have the kitchen.

We recently stayed in one of the Cabanas for 4 nights. The rooms are not fancy, just simple beds, bathrooms and living room/kitchenette, but they are way less than other rooms on the island and one of the few multibedroom suite potions on the island for families. I would caution that the stairs in the cabana, while beautiful, would not be a good idea for some toddlers. Maria and Daniella and their team are multilingual and were fantastic about arranging car hire, 1/2 day and full day tours in English, polynesian dancing/luaus etc. The hotel offers a simple breakfast of bread, cold cuts, wonderful fresh squeezed juice, butter, jelly and tea or nescafe every am if you wish to pay a little extra. They give a great tour of town on arrival to show you important stores, ATM sites, where to see sea turtles and advice on best discounts for eating out as dining can be expensive. The site is perfectly located-an easy walk to the harbor, and the main street. The hotel was great about cleaning the rooms, keeping towels fresh and attentive to every need, they even give you a flower lei upon arrival and shell necklace when you leave. Easter Island was a magical trip for our family and the great service from Tea Nui was one of the reasons why, would not hesitate to recommend them anytime.

Airport pickup is on time. Staff are friendly and very helpful in introducing the island. The room is clean and tidy - with nice wake up call by the cute roosters and hens! Considering the food are so expensive on the island, the breakfast is nice and we enjoyed it very much. We rented a car and the hotel is large enough for us to park the car in.
