Did a tour of the house with my mother and daughter on Thursday. Took just under an hour and was very interesting. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of our guide but she was excellent. As it's a family home and they also cater for weddings, for which it must be a beautiful setting, opening times are very limited and tour times sporadic so would highly recommend checking ahead.

1st visit to Ireland, and it was to attend the barefestival 2018. The house is stunning, huge gardens and it's all in a lovely little village. The people were very friendly. Staying in the cottages behind the house. The cottages were quite run down, which was slightly disappointing, considering that celebrities were staying there.

Lucky enough to enjoy a tour with a group of 40 out of season.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable visit. Had great guides in Morgan and Sara.
And it was also great to see the borris lace and to meet some of the present practicioners.
Highly recommend a visit

took a trip to Borris house, Paid for entry at gate house but the tour of the house was not till 3pm so we had a bit of time to walk some of the grounds but as there is a working farm here some parts are "no entry" for I'm sure safety and privacy reasons. The family still live in or around the house and estate. The house is the historical residence of the McMorrough- Kavanagh family , it is a truly Irish Grand house with examples of Irish plaster work , mouldings , lace making , cabinet makers work throughout with many resoration work still needed. The tour brings you to different rooms within the house and the chapel. The house is a popular Wedding venue with accommodation within the house and self contained units. the only down side is there is no coffee shop on site which could bring in extra revenue, but the village is only a few step away .
