‘Stay here but don’t do the overpriced tours!!’

➖ The staff was trying too hard at times to be nice and it came through as forced and extremely uncomfortable. Even worse was the attitude towards guests like not refilling breakfast items on the buffet, taking a while to greet or being stunned when any degree of flexibility is requested (such as asking to dine on the lower patio).

We did the Snorkeling tour with El Capitan, Dennis, which cost €90 each. Before it started we were requested to grab goggles and fins, they were all old, some broken and not in the best condition. This was not what we expected for that price. While Dennis tour was good, it felt at points amateurish, and somewhat of a way to justify the expense for a boat. There was at most 45 minutes of snorkeling on a 3 hour tour, although there was no wildlife to see except for the octopus at the end. At this point too, for €90 I would’ve expected some snacks for the trip back, or a welcome octopus salad, there was none of that and all we received was a beer can and a bottle of water.

All in all don’t recommend the tours but definitely recommend staying at this hotel!

➕ The view from the lodge is amazing! It’s tucked away in a little bit of paradise! Lovely small (but pebbly) Beach, all set up with comfortable beach chairs and umbrellas! The rooms are so nice and comfortable and feel like home away from home. Delicious breakfast (although not often refilled!) and the owners (or who we assume are the owners, an Australian lady and Dennis) were extremely nice and welcoming! It was really nice that they thought about little additions to improve your holiday; such as borrowing a book, snorkels, blankets, magazines, sun-hats etc etc

The food is delicious at Mimi’s Cafe, but be careful of the House burger, I had it and had almost a bottle of “special sauce” on it, which I had to scrape off.

Great location, comfortable and spacious rooms, personalized service make this a hotel that I return to. The one critique is the price of cocktails: an Aperol Spritz costs MORE here than at the most expensive hotels in Venice.

Beautiful boutique property. Service was personal yet professional. The setting and design was spot on! The owner and his daughter "Tara" were at the hotel and took us out Octopus fishing. Loved the whole experience.

Room tip: i think the ones above mimi's cafe probably have the best views.

We (2 couples) stayed 3 nights after a week sailing the Dalmatian Coast - what a great find - good sized rooms, great high quality finishes and very attentive and friendly staff. Restaurant on beach is great for lazy days and dinners at night.

Big bonus is quiet bay but very easy walk ~30 min into Korcula Old Town along the waters edge. Tara's team also have a restaurant called Silk in Old Town which is well worth a visit if you are craving some Asian inspired flavours.

We all highly recommended Tara's Lodge and were sad to have to leave and return to work reality.

Room tip: Upper level bay/water view rooms have great outlook back to mainland

Great location and friendly service. But beware to check the bill properly before you leave (unlike us). Items from the 'minibar' are added based on what was in tbe bin. So three bottle of water an pack of peanuts we brought ourselves were charged to us.

But the complementary bottle of wine on arrival more than makes up for this.

Very nice stay overall.
