Taglio di Po is not known for gastronomic wonders. In fact, there are very few restaurants there. This one, il Gallo Nero, is brand new; it opened only a couple of weeks ago. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, the ambience inviting, and the service was excellent. In addition to the standard fare, this place specialized also in wild game, which is unusual for the area. As I said, it is well worth a visit and, by the way, unlike most restaurants in Italy, there is no cover charge (coperto).
