It is clear that the owner of this property - "hotel" - has problems. It should be a fabulous place to stay but it is worryingly not. We stayed beginning of June. The room lovely and clean but no hot water early morning and evening (okay the rest of the day but not really when you need it). The lovely, south facing terraces and bar are locked after breakfast finishes and from then you have no access to them - at all!! One night we came back from a busy day to sit- we'd hoped - with a drink and watch the sun go down - but we could not get out of the inner courtyard. There is no access to the terraces or bar, it's all locked up. You feel trapped and very vulnerable. There was no-one else at the hotel - no hotel owner or staff - and no caretaker. There is no-one there for security overnight also - so if you stay there you have to lock the outer door and be on your own! If there should there be a problem, you are quite a way from any other buildings, you can't get hold of the owner by phone. There was one other couple staying there the second night, so the four of us were the only people in the building. The doors to outside terraces are open during breakfast - which is lovely, thankfully. I feel sorry for the young woman that does the lovely breakfast, the cleaning and morning work etc - she has been there many years but she is under pressure as the hotel is not really functioning. It is such a shame as it is a lovely old building with everything set up for it to run beautifully - but is doesn't. Maybe the peak season it might - I hope so, such a waste and disappointing.

Room Tip: upper rooms have a balcony/mini terrace

We had the most fantastic holiday at la tartana. The host ged and Mandy were warm and welcoming. The food was plentiful and the rooms were large and airy what more could you wish for. We will certainly be going again.

Stayed at this hotel recently. No staff apart from early mornings. Only two rooms occupied and bar and restaurant closed. Stayed out late as coming back to empty hotel was miserable.Breakfast and cleanliness good.

Room Tip: Dark walk on main road back to deserted hotel at night.

We arrived to find an empty hotel, had to phone and wait to be let in .Despite advertising a beautiful restaurant, bar and terrace area these were all locked up. No staff apart from delightful lady early mornings. We have emailed the owner on several occasions to address problems of guest safety (one night we were the only people staying and had ringing of the bell, baning on the door and shouting voices during the night).
Breakfast and view is lovely but it's really no longer a hotel as the restaurant and bar and gardens are locked. Don't believe the photos on the website they are several years old when the hotel was presumably doing better.

Room Tip: There is a short walk along a busy road to the village/beach This is not shown on website

We stayed here for one night in July 2017. Cozy hotel, friendly owners, very cool bathroom doors. The location by the big road isn’t great but it is an easy walk to the beach. We would stay here again. Thanks.
