Mid afternoon after 4 hours of twisting and turning around the beautiful white villages and scenic roads of "Los Alpujurras" we were ready for lunch and fell upon the Restaurant Tiede in Bubion ample free parking immediately behind made the stop convenient, the terrace was buzzing but a bit chilly so we went inside to find a spacious "rustic" restaurant, with comfortable tables and panoramic views. The menu tempted us into a meal rather than the planned snack and we shared an "Ensalada Apajurra" which was an ensalada mixta with the addition of hard boiled egg, jamon and cheese (lots of both) in fact so large was the salad that we were beginning to wonder if we would manage the already ordered main course of roast lamb.
Pierna de Cordero, estilo Alpajurra to be shared was placed in the centre of table dressed with patatas de los pobres and vegetables, slow cooked and delicious. With a 1.5 litre bottle of water and a bottle of wine and change from 40 euros this place is must if you looking for an exceptional meal at an exceptional price. Thank you Teide!!
