What a lovely pub! Great welcoming feel. Really cosy with a log fire burning which was spot on. The food was fantastic!! Highly recommend the fish and chips!

This venue was within walking distance of our B&B and we were told it was good. This is an old style pub, reasonably comfortable and warm. The bar man, possibly the owner, was "jack of all trades" he was serving, taking orders, waiting on tables and clearing tables ! We had to wait a short while for a drink when we arrived, as he was busy and away from the bar. Nevertheless, he was pleasant and helpful. The food on offer is pub grub, the menu has a reasonable choice, besides daily specials. Our order was taken fairly quickly and we didn't have long to wait, before it was served. The food was hot and typical of pub grub and good value for money. Should we be in the area again, we would return, it is good basic food.

Having driven past this pub many times, last week we decided to venture in.
Lovely, cosy little pub awaits. Decor all nice and clean. Enough tables for size of venue.
With all this charm you expect the staff/land lady to be smiley and happy. Unfortunately this is not the case. The land lady gave the impression that it was all too much trouble which is such a shame. I can grow lemons quicker than the bar man can slice them, so slow.
We ordered food, basic pub grub, pie and chips, spag. Bol, lasagne yet it took 50 minutes to arrive from ordering. It was nice but not worth this amount of waiting time.
This pub could be a great place, if smiles were painted on faces, bar staff were a bit quicker and the food were to come out sooner.

This is a pub that serves good food, but it is mainly pub which provide decent pub grub rather than fine dining. Wednesday nights are quiz nights and they are quite fun – but does mean quite a wait for the food – we endured a 100 minute wait, with a hint of suspicion that our order was "lost" - which meant we ate quickly when it arrived!
