We had the privilege to stay 4 nights at this hotel at the end of a week tour of Sicily. From the check in to the check out we had been provided excellent service. Davide at reception was most helpful, pleasant, professional and a pleasure to deal with. He provided us with excellent information regarding the hotel and the services that could be provided. He immediately booked us into the spa which was so relaxing. Just what we needed. Agatha the lady who attended to our room was extremely pleasant and cleaned our room so very well. We wish we had some of her energy. We had a ground floor room that was close to the ocean and pool. Just perfect. Every staff member we had the pleasure of dealing with smiled and greeted us. We couldn’t get our TV to work and within minutes someone was here to help us. Strongly suggest a relaxing stay here. Only thing it isn’t close to any restaurants or supermarkets. Bed was comfortable, room and bathroom decent size. Table and chairs in our outdoor ground patio. We had room 110. Good choice. Thank you Grand hotel Baia Verde and please pass on our thanks in particular to Agatha and Davide.

This is an excellent hotel in Catania. The only problem is the distance from the town center. The hotel has a good view and the breakfast is superb. The rooms are clean and hygienic. The services are generally very good.

Room Tip: Good sea view

It was very good view and nice rooms. The pool was good and close to the ocean so u could Jump from the cliff.

They dont speak so good english and we could not find any menu that was in English. Not in whole Catania For that matter :p

The resturant was really good.

It is outside of Catania so if you want to go to Catania by taxi is around 20 euro

Lovely, slightly olde-worlde 4-star hotel on the rocky coast north of Catania. The Standard room was fine but we upgraded to a Deluxe Sea View on arrival. Beautiful decor, very traditional, don't come if you like modern. Huge comfortable bed, soft grey and orange decor. Half board is excellent - extensive buffet breakfast, just about covers all tastes. Dinner is 3 courses, delicious, pasta starters and meat or fish main course, although both courses are substantial! Desserts and pastries divine. Restaurant staff all very smart and professional, not all speak English but quite easy to communicate. Large pool and pool deck. There's a sea deck but it doesn't 'open' till 1 June, so bear that in mind if you like sea swimming. There's a bus stop outside the hotel and the 534 will take you either way up the coast, but you have to buy bus tickets elsewhere so stock up when you get the chance. They're only €1 each and last for 90 minutes once activated on the bus, no matter the distance. Lovely location but you need to travel to get to shops etc. Hotel will arrange excursions and transfers but not payment for these, you will be expected to pay cash at the end of the tour.

First the good news. Spectacular views, especially on the breakfast terrace, has a lovely charm that removes it from the typical chain hotels, rooms were very clean with outlook to lovely grounds and the sea. Massages were fantastic and staff there were lovely. Now for the bad. Except for Christina Reception staff were dismissive and miserable. Especially the older gentlemen who made you feel like you were just bothering him.our room was some distance from reception but they could not find the porter so carried them ourselves.life guard who was responsible for issuing towels could never be found so a waiter had to hand them out. The only other food available other than the very expensive resturant (although food was quite good) was by the pool ( the American bar). Food very limited and not very good. There were very few people when we were there but still at no time during our stay did any member of staff approach us to ask if there was anything they could get or do for us. The bar inside the hotel was closed for the majority of the time and we could not get a drink after 9pm. The only time it was open was when they had conferences there (about 4 a day) so each day you had suited and booted people wandering around the same area as guests trying to rest and sun bathe. Breakfast is very limited and staff clearly could not cope, even when it was self serve. The only hot option for bfast was scrambled eggs, boiled eggs and bacon. Boiled Eggs were raw on occasion, and the bacon was just fat.
A shame, could have been so much better.
