We spent 4 nights in July at Thalassa apartments. Our apartment on the third floor was a fully equipped bedroom/living room and kitchenette unit. It was very comfortable, spotless, quiet and with a sea view terrace. Stella, Vangelis and their son were super welcoming and helpful. They really did think about anything guests might need on the site. There is a small pool, bbq, beach equipment that can be borrowed and more.
We spent hours at the beach just across the road which was not crowded and once you walked through a few meters of stones had beautiful sand.
There is a grocery store at the camping ground down the road for basics and some lovely tavernas in the town nearby.
We had a rented car which I think is a must if you stay in this area as its a bit out of the way. We were able to do fabulous day trips using the apartment as our base.
Thank you to our terrific hosts Stella, Vangelis and their son for everything. We hope to see you soon again.

We stayed for one week. We wish it had been 2. We came from another part of the island from a villa we rented which was only available for 1 week. Since we wanted to stay 2 we booked a 2nd week here. We were very late booking and were happy we found something. But now we wish we had stayed here the whole 2 weeks. The beach is very quiet. Sometimes we were the only ones there. Beautiful view. You have to walk over some stones in the water for about 2 meters then sand. Gorgeous!

The apartment was a 2 room with a kitchenette with everything you need. We were there with our two 18 year old daughters. I was afraid it would be tight and we would get on each others nerves. We let them have the bedroom and my husband and I slept on the pull out beds. This was so that we could get up early, make coffee and enjoy reading on the balcony facing the water and the garden. That was a perfect arrangement for us. But we were almost always outside.

One evening we hung out in the room because we were so lazy and watched TV.

There was a great Tavern a few houses down the road at a camping ground. Very friendly, very good food. They also had a small grocery store to by things if we needed. (more expensive than a normal supermarket) but we were happy to have it. There were also very good restaurants in the village.

We had a car which we enjoyed because we were so near to Phalasarna, Elafonisi and Balos beach. But i can imagine going back with my husband for a week and staying put.
Even so, I would still recommend a car. There is really nothing except the camping gound taverna.

The hosts, Stella, Vangelis and their son, were so accommadating and charming. Upon arrival we received a basket of home made cookies as well as home made olive oil and raki.

It is a very simple set up. But I highly recommend it.

Oh I almost forgot! A lovely pool which we hung out around on a very windy day. Protected from the wind and very clean. Over all just great.

I spent six days with my family in an apartment on the second floor. I made the reservation directly to the owners by email and it was great. Although we did not pay any advance, the hosts waited for us with the prepared apartment and the welcome gift.
The apartment has a large terrace with superb sea views. It's cool, it has good beds and it's quiet, the road ahead is not a circulation. In the evening, only the sea is heard. The apartment is equipped with electric cooker, electric oven, hair dryer, iron, safe, TV led, DVD player, large refrigerator with freezer, coffee maker and all necessary kitchen. The internet is good.
The location has a swimming pool with seawater, BBQ, playground, dining table, enough parking spaces, outdoor showers and a beautiful garden. The beach is right in front, the beach is gravelly and sandy, has umbrellas with sunbeds, and under a tree is a table with a bench. The sea is warm and quiet, in the bay you can see the sunset.
The owners are very friendly, on arrival they introduced us the taverns, shops and attractive beaches nearby. We also received local maps and communicated the state and beauty of our roads. It is a good base to explore the west of the island. After a one-kilometer walk east or west, there are good and cheap food taverns.
We rested, we ate and we bathed very well here.

Room Tip: The apartments on the second floor have a great view of the sea.

We spent a week at Thalassa Apartments with Stella and Vangelis in Oct. It was a perfect base from which to explore Western Crete. The apartment was spacious, clean and very quiet with gorgeous mountain and ocean views. It was a 5 min drive into Kissamos with easy access to the main highway. Our hosts provided us with valuable information about restaurants, beaches, places to visit. The grounds were well kept with a lovely pool, beach chairs and a great selection of books.
We couldn't have asked for more. We look forward to our next visit!

Room Tip: Better views from 2nd and 3rd floors.

Hospitality and friendly environment from the host! The place is literally in front of the beach. Clean and tidy with a huge relaxing bed. Parking available and wifi everywhere. I urge you to visit especially during summer time, if you are looking for a place to relax without noises.
