If you desire great food with local spices look no further than Kariwak Village. I thoroughly enjoyed their breakfast, lunch and dinner. Approachable and well mannered staff as well.

Having spent 10 days in a low cost hotel, on an all inclusive basis, we decided to splash out on the last day and eat in a highly recommended place.
Are we glad we did. The service was very professional and courteous, the restaurant was well laid out with inside or outside dining, and the food was beautiful.
The fixed price menu was limited, with either beef or fish so we had one of each.
We started with soup, then the 2nd course was a tomato salad before the mains arrived. The beef was tender, sliced easily and cooked just how I like it. My wife had the fish and it was fresh, tasty, tender and flaky. The 4th course we chose the home made ice cream and finished with coffee. Why had we left it until the last night? All this for $550TT, about £60 UK.
A short walk back to our hotel was needed as we had eaten way too much but when we next come to Tobago, we will eat out a lot more often.

Lunch isn't served until 12:30, so keep that in mind if you're an early eater. Portions are huge, so come with an appetite. I found the service to be a bit slow, waiters disappeared for a while. Overall, food was delicious and hot and I would definitely recommend giving it a try.

The restaurant was recommended to us by other guests at our hotel. We had lunch from their a large carte menu on two occasions and both meals were delicious. Both had grilled shrimp salad the first time and then an enormous club sandwich and chopped egg sandwich on the second visit. Would recommend this restaurant for lunch and the little chalets behind look lovely too. Nice atmosphere and a cool breeze blowing through the restaurant which was most welcome, service was OK if a little slow.

I went to Kariwak Village on the basis of positive reviews on TripAdvisor and was very disappointed. Service was slow and lackadaisical. There were only two menu choices: chicken or fish. The food was dry and bland. The cocktails were awful - who puts canned pineapple in a drink. The bar menu said that the daiquiris and coladas were made from scratch with no pre-mixed ingredients. The waitress then told us no, they were made with mix from a box.

Total waste of money. Neither my friends nor I will return.
