Dated hotel with an institutional feel. Felt a bit Eastern European from the bad old days. A stop over place only. Very slow restaurant service in a huge cafeteria like room. I think breakfast was better but it made little impression.

Biggest disappointment here was the build up to having a swim after a long day of travelling, but, I won't get into a pool that you can't see the bottom of. The hotel reminded us of a soulless holiday camp with concrete rooms in a concrete building, Rooms were clean but bare, the bathroom had some toiletries but the shower was tepid and flooded out the room. The restaurant was very cafeteria like with bland food, easy wine choice though, red or white, half or full bottle. The staff were not particularly friendly or efficient. We needed to stay in Tehuantepec and as a two hotel city this was number one, it may be that complacency has set in with a take it or leave it attitude.

Room tip: Overlooking pool and grounds, better, but not good.

Located in a beautiful and spacious garden setting, the hotel was under renovation at the time of our visit. Spread out over the large site, the hotel lacked signage and lighting, so there was always a danger of falling into the drainage trenches that had been dug. The room was bright and airy, but lacking in a refrigerator, bathroom supplies and even coat-hangers.

Staff seemed to be over-stressed or disinterested in their work, spoke little English (or any language other than Spanish and were impatient with non-Spanish speakers who tried to speak that language). The dining room was unimpressive for dinner, and little better for breakfast, opening well after the advertised opening time.

The hotel is situated at major crossroads with long distances in each direction but few local attractions so it proved a rather necessary port of call. There was a good structure and a nice room with strong A/C (necessary given the outside heat and humidity in May). We had a comfortable king bed. Water in the shower was only tepid. The restaurant service was slow and inaccurate (despite methodical translation by our interpreter).

We spent one night there while driving to Tuxtla Gutierrez.
This hotel is huge, located a few minutes away by car from the city centre and it is under recovery.
Our room was very modern and well furnished and everything was very clean. The bathroom was new and it also had a window.
The restaurant is fine, we asked the waitress for the best dishes and she was very gentle recommending us a nice meal.
We recommend it if you are just passing through.
