This is a beautiful part of Scotland and we were given a warm welcome for our 2 nights. The room was large -(called Hope) which I thought rather appropriate as we had been hoping for some good weather and we had it there - it has its own micro climate.

The bed was very comfy with a lovely view from the room and fresh milk available for the teas and coffees. There is a residents' lounge just outside the room which is very comfortable and has some interesting books.
Breakfast is ordered the night before - which is OK if you can recall what you ordered when you come down the next morning! If not you end up taking too much as a starter - and the food is plentiful.
Within very easy walk of the Hotel with a bar where we ate quite happily both evenings.
The gardens are lovely and enjoyable to sit in .
Sat Navs may not work all that well and the Lodge is not exactly on the main road, so speak to Angus and let him know which direction you are travelling from -it took us a while to find it and if you are arriving later in the dark, it could prove more of a problem - but then you would not have all that peace and quiet!

New venture from Elizabeth and Angus in their first season who made us incredibly welcome. Amazing historic building with its story available to read in the room. Previous guests include royalty, politicians and famous writers! Short walk to the Scourie hotel for a bar supper.
Lots of choice for breakfast. Delicious home made bread and stewed rhubarb from the garden. En suite bedroom impeccably clean with a guest lounge space to sit and chill. Great views over the harbour.
Make time to see the beautifully maintained walled garden which is well worth a meander before bed.
We were just one of two parties staying this time but with this quality of hospitality I am sure this will not be the case for long. Will definitely stay again.

This is a beautiful lodge, in a beautiful, quiet setting and definitely worth staying more than one night. It is clean and spacious with very comfortable beds, excellent poached eggs were part of our very good breakfast. The hosts Angus and Elisabeth are very welcoming and keen for you to see the beautiful walled garden and point out the great walks that you can do from the lodge. The scenery is breathtaking and we would definitely go back and recommend it.

Received warm welcome and shown to large bedroom with lounge outside - but weather too good to use lounge and we sat out on beach wall watching sun set! Quiet location within easy walk of pub and hotel for evening meal. Gardens are well worth a walk round as is old mixed woodland at back of lodge. Good breakfast with excellent poached eggs! One of our best stays in NW Scotland.
