My wife and i went for breakfast and we were completely surprised by the food we were served. I did not expect this but to put it in words..... simply amazing. We ordered pancakes and they were the best i have tasted in Goa. The huevos rancheros was nice and the Turkish coffee was good too. We ordered Hot Chocolate, banana muffin, stuffed omelette. Everything was very nice and worth the visit. Cant wait to go back there again.

Excellent experience with the brunch! Fresh salads, option of coffee with coconut milk, well made omelette with spinach and feta. It’s a heaven for people like me who eat low carb foods.. lovely friendly ambiance. Owner is very friendly and helpful! Must visit!!

We ate all our meals, for three straight days at Ruta's, and every meal was devoured and savored with relish. The place opens at 830, perfect for breakfast. Perfect strong cappuccinos, served in desi glasses. We had the kerala omelette, stuffed omelette and huevos rancheros with goan chorizo, loved the mexican eggs. The egg menu can be expanded though, to include spicier options. Pancakes are juicy and crispy, also perfect. They serve cold pressed juices. And the best hot chocolate with marshmallows.
The roast beef sandwich is the best I have had in a while. Chickpea curry is interesting with the addition of dill. Summer pasta and prawn did not click well. The coconut tambli is refreshing.
Their menu is fantastic, one of those limited menus where you want to eat and try everything. It is also updated quite frequently, with daily specials.
And the best part, is the amazing service. Great job, ladies !
And the cherry topping, high speed complimentary wifi.

Ruta's was recommended by a local resident when we sought inputs on a place offering something other than rich Goan curries. We came away delighted by what we experienced, the fresh and tasty food, quiet ambience with soft jazz on the sound system and attentive service. it is on a quiet stretch of road in Assagaon so there was no traffic sound or casual walk-ins. Be mindful that it is open all day from Breakfast upto 6.30pm only. Seating is available outside under a canopy, as well as a few tables indoors. The bakery does excellent cakes and brownies which we packed and took away. As with similar cafes in Goa, it was inexpensive and filling. Our bill for 3 adults totalled Rs 1350; we had ourselves a shared starter, 3 mains and 3 excellent cappucinos. Apart from a fairly comprehensive menu, they had daily specials on offer as well.

Finally made it to Ruta's Roadhouse after hearing about it from friends and was not disappointed. The ambience was great - simple but elegant decor, bright and airy with tasteful music in the background played at just the right volume. The service was good. I opted for a soup and salad. Roasted Red Bell Pepper and Tomato Soup and the Oriental Chicken Salad. Both were flavourful and satisfying. Had heard that the place has amazing Sticky Buns - unfortunately they were over. Having a sweet tooth and being partial to dark chocolate I tucked into a "Blackie" with ice cream - it was the perfect ending to a good meal. But I couldn't resist the Cappucino on the menu. I left Ruta's Roadhouse with a feeling of sheer contentment. I'll definitely make another trip to this place and next time hope to partake of the Sticky Buns recommended by my friends.
