Stopped in for a little visit before the crowded tourist season started. They were still busy and it is a little crowded at times. Lots of breads, great looking scones, cookies, etc...all tempting.

This time we purchased a package of 6 bagels...for $5.50 which I thought was an amazing price compared to local donut chains, etc.

Once home I couldn't wait to try the bagel. I liked it...It was soft and chewy. Would definitely return for the bagel alone.

What is very nice is the available outdoor seating areas...from the cheerful yellow Adirondack chairs out front to the inviting selection of chairs on the wharf behind the historic building.

An excellent stop on the Lighthouse Route to Bridgewater. Quaint building with excellent coffee. I had an Americano which was just right with 2 shots. The only drawback is they had no sweetener and as a Diabetic sugar was out. I had a delicious cheese and chive scone and sat by the window just car and people watching.
They do have a variety of fresh sandwiches, treats, teas and coffees.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.

If you are on your way to or from Lunenburg a must stop is LeHave Bakery.

While the establishment is a bakery (and an outstanding one I might add) they do serve Breakfast and Lunch and you can sit at one of the oversized tables, stools next to the windows, or on the Adirondack chairs on the porch of the building.

I had two lunches at LeHave and enjoyed them immensely. The quality of the food is outstanding. Ingredients are farm fresh and taste unique and wonderful.

My first lunch was a takeout Panini served with fresh carrots – what a sumptuous lunch. My second lunch was a sit down Fish Burger. From my perspective this set a new standard in the fresh taste of a Fish Burger – what a winner!

I think the best way to experience LeHave is to have a lunch and then take the LaHave (cable) ferry and drive a short distance to Lunenburg. You approach Lunenburg from a different vantage point.

By the way, the selections of bread, muffins, etc that are made in the bakery are exquisite. They have an incredible selection.

The staff at the Bakery are enthusiastic and down to earth. You will feel right at home.
You can eat in “fancier” settings, but this is THE spot for home cooking, at reasonable prices, and served by a welcoming staff.

Must sure you do not pass this place without taking part in what they have to offer.

We live locally and enjoy driving down for the bagel with cream cheese and smoked salmon. Coffee is good as are the sweets.

I thought this place was fabulous. Full of character and very interesting quirky memorabilia. You could easily close your eyes and think you had travelled back in time to 'The Waltons' era. I have been to the bakery several times in Mahone Bay but in terms of ambience etc., there is no comparison. The scones are to die for but then so is all the food - irrespective of whether you go for breakfast or lunch or whatever. The coffee is superb as well. There are lots of items for sale - ranging from jam to mustard plus pieces of pottery from the pottery next door, which is worth a visit.
There is also a craft store and the most fabulous book store that just has to be visited to appreciate. Big sofas - great reading, great food and possibly one of the most beautiful views you can possibly imagine. Many thanks - it was my pleasure to be a customer.
