We had a lovely stay at this cute cottage. It had everything we needed for our week’s stay and we loved the open fire in the cosy snug. It was plenty big enough for 4 adults and there’s also a sofa bed that can accommodate 2 more people. The location is excellent for day trips to Skye. We went to the fairy pools which were magical! It is also close to Plockton and Applecross both of which are definitely worth a visit and both have places to eat with delicious fresh seafood that I would highly recommend. The best thing about the cottage was the breathtaking views. We can’t wait to visit again!
We enjoyed a lovely week here at Bayview Cottage, the house is very well equipped and beautifully renovated. I can highly recommend a visit.
Located in Erbusaig, just outside Kyle of Lochalsh (or more commonly just Kyle), Bayview Cottage is a lovely wee traditional Highland house that has been recently renovated to a very high standard.
Getting the practicalities out the way first, there is a brilliantly cosy living room with open fire (which the owners provide fuel for the first night or so for), a smart TV and if you need to put up your 5th and 6th guests, one of the sofas is also a bed. Also on the kitchen is a sun room, which leads out in to a nice wee back garden. The kitchen is fantastic, newly refurbished, and really well equipped. Upstairs there is a double and two in bedroom, both with virtually brand new beds, etc - and newly carpeted. It’s a great home, and we had a really comfortable week there with our three children (3rd is a toddler and slept in a provided travel cot in the twin room).
The house looks on to the bay at Erbsuaig, and we were treated every night to incredible sunsets over Skye and the Cuillin mountains. We felt very lucky to be there.
I would be here for hours writing about the opportunities to eat well while you stay there, and these are all detailed in a comprehensive welcome book with loads of really good practical information.
The house is 1.5 miles form Kyle, where there are bus and train routes to Skye and the Central Belt, as well as local taxis.
This house is owned by two sisters, and is apparently their family home. This is apparent in the care that has been put in to the renovation of the place, and the thoughts that has gone to making sure guests have everything they need for a great visit.
A fantastic holiday. We will be back!
