We stayed at the Hotel Dublin for one night.
Szentgotthard is currently not a tourist hot-spot. However there is a lot of building being done to regenerate the town and with it being just an hour and a half by train from Graz it is well worth a day trip or an overnight stay.
The Hotel Dublin is a ten minute walk from the train station, two minute walk from the bus station and two minutes walk from the town centre. It is situated down a very quiet side street so noise is not a problem.
The hotel looks newly built and is therefore spotlessly clean and in pristine condition. Our room was large and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was also excellent - however it takes a few minutes for hot water to reach the shower - don't jump straight in!
The breakfast was very good with a fine selection of teas!
The service was superb! On checking out, we were asked where we were heading. We said the train station and were promptly given a lift. All offers of a tip were flatly refused on arrival!
Value for money - Cost was 9,500 forints (about £23.50) including breakfast - tremendous value for money.
We would highly recommend the Hotel Dublin for anyone wishing to stay in Szentgotthard.
