I came across La Laconda di Camugliano on a walk. It was lunchtime and I was hungry, but I waited around outside a while as, peering in from the front window, I'd seen two long tables set up very smartly and felt self conscious in my denim shorts and t shirt!
They were catering for a large party in the main room, but once I went round the back into the garden, I was told I could get a seat in the marquee. The waitresses were patient with my lack of Italian and I was glad to see several vegetarian options on the menu. I went for an artichoke salad (delicious - pinky green artichoke leaves (?) with olive oil, lemon and thyme) and then spaghetti with tomatoes - very fresh and simple. They kindly gave me an espresso on the house, and I was not made to feel bad either about my clothing or the fact I was dining solo. All in all, I heartily recommend it!
