White Hart Hotel
Ranked #1 of 1 Hotels in Launceston
Reviewed 7 May 2017

I have started using the White Hart for my business trips to Cornwall. I have tried the Exeter hotels and even the Golf venue a bit further up the A30.

This is an ancient listed property and you can imagine horses being stabled in the courtyard.Yes it has it's quirks but if you go with them you will have a lovely stay.I always stay in Room 18 which is in the front of the hotel overlooking the main town square, but the staff warned me this could be noisy at throwing out time, and it was, but it didn't last long (except for one shouting idiot) and I don't know about you but if you know the noise is coming you can live with it.These front rooms are huge.

In summary, great value, lovely breakfast (they do me a brilliant yoghurt and strawberries) and most of all lovely friendly staff who go out of their way to provide a first class service.

Room Tip: If you are very anti street sounds go for a room in the back of the property

Situated right in the centre of town, a very convenient location. This is a well-established building of character, NOT one of the mundane, modern plastic hotels. Breakfast was excellent, not your usual 'do it yourself' hot plate jobs! The service was also very good. Bar had one real ale on tap - very handy!

All in all, good place to stay!

Came here twice and had a drink .. staff were great especially Karen who was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area .. she was fab .. however went in for lunch and a drink today in the bar and was told by an older woman we could not stay because we had a small dog .. the dog (shihtzu) has been with us on previous visits .. tried to explain this to her but she wasn't interested ... total jobsworth

This hotel is an old building with a maze of corridor, many with sloping floors.
My room was large but the space was not utilised as there was just a bed, very small dressing table and wardrobe. No chair to sit on, nowhere to put your clothes but the wardrobe, nowhere to hang a wet coat.
The bathroom was fine with a good shower.
The breakfast was poor. The bacon rashers were stuck together and dried up and the sausage skin was more like a crust. The baked beans were not very hot. The toast was made from thin sliced bread which could have done with longer in the toaster. Had I had time to spare I would have asked for a freshly cooked grilled/fried meal not one cooked ?en masse in the oven.

Room Tip: Keep away from the rear rooms when the function room is in use.
