We shopped all over Greece -- in Athens and on the islands -- before we found this treasure of a store in Tolo. The store offers high-quality wood products, including salad bowls and tongs, backgammon sets and chess boards, jewelry, and sculptures. The prices were amazing. And Marika, the proprietor of this family-owned business, is warm and friendly.

The best shop in Tolo! A great place to explore crafts, beautiful small items for a home, and some lovely gifts for men and women. The quality is exceptional and the products are all real. We’ve bought wine glasses, jewellery, pens, charcuterie boards - all made from olive wood. A definite must.

We have been visiting the beautiful fishing village of Tolo regularly over the years and like to take authentic Greek handcrafted items back with us as gifts for family and friends. There is basically just the one main street running through the old village, which has a number of run-of-the-mill souvenir shops, but in the middle of the village is a little gem, the Olive Wood Boutique – an Aladdin’s cave full of beautiful hand-carved pieces, backgammon and chess boards, turned bowls, chopping boards and other items for the kitchen, all made from olive wood with its wonderful colouring and grain patterns. There’s also a large collection of the proprietor Maria’s hand-made jewellery and original paintings and prints of Tolo by local artists, together with cosmetic items such as soaps and oils for skin disorders based on very old Greek recipes, using virgin olive oil as the main ingredient. Maria is very friendly and chatty and is a font of knowledge on the village and the surrounding area. This shop is a “must visit” for a real taste of what Greece has to offer in the way of authentic quality gifts and souvenirs – and Greek hospitality.

There are a lot of souvenir and novelty shops on the strip in Tolo, but this one by far had some of the greatest, authentic pieces worth taking home wither for yourself or as a great gift for friends and family back home.
