This is a piece of South African History. Commissioned in 1878 and still working today. It is the most South Easterly lighthouse on the South African coast, situated in pristine fynbos and wild scenery and close to a spectacular beach.
Such a pity that it no longer supports tourist visits. I think St Francis Bay Tourist Authority has lost an opportunity to promote that beautiful haven with so much history.
I would have rated it higher but for my inability to visit and explore this "beacon" of history.
