We regret booking this hotel.
It was extremely loud in the room next to ours late into the night and after calling the front desk repeatedly with no answer, we went to speak with them in person. Then we waited in line for ten minutes to speak to someone. While the woman behind the desk was nice, it took another 30 mins to get a call over to the adjacent room.
The rest of our experiences with the staff were fine but this really left a bad taste in our mouthes.
Speaking of taste, the food is very expensive and terrible. And in this resort setting, it's the only option. We cabbed into town just to have some authentic Puerto Rican food.
All in all, very disappointing experience here.

Complained to management and security at the hotel several times about noise emanating from the bar that drifted into my room. DJ music being played at high volume until 2 am in the morning.

If you can’t get a room away from the elevator or core of the hotel check out and get a refund before you’re trapped.

First and foremost the shining star of the Wyndham Resort is the customer service of the employees. I can't say enough how friendly and helpful everyone is right from the moment you pull up. It stayed that way my entire stay no matter where on the resort I was. All the waiters, bartenders, drivers, EVERYONE was very friendly and polite and helpful.

However, there are some areas that need improvement and the reason for my 4 rating and not 5. The resort recently re-opened and it is apparent that a lot of the communication needs to be worked out. This really should have been fixed prior to customer arrivals. For example when I booked the trip there wasn't any indication on the website about certain restaurants being closed. ( this has since been fixed) When I checked in I was given a map with my room key that has a list of restaurants that was all outdated. The woman at the desk verbally told me all the info about what was open/closed and their hours. However for someone brand new to the resort there are too many details to remember. A simple printout for every guest that clearly labels hours for each restaurant would be a huge improvement.

That being said the choices for food are limited as the resort works to discover when to open more. Marbella is such a nice restaurant space that should be utilized for dinner but it only serves breakfast.

Also I think the front desk needs to know absolutely all the details about the resort. In three occasions there was info they didn't know:

1) One person told me the Tennis courts were closed when I had already talked to the Tennis attendants separately via email confirming they were open. He had to get back to me later in the day to say " oh yes they are open." Its important that the front desk is aware of all details to be able to answer guest's questions.

2) Second time I called the operator to confirm when the " Lobby Bar" would stop serving food. They clearly said, " you can order food until 1am." I went down at 11:30pm to try and get food and was sadly told they kitchen closes at 11pm. There is NOWHERE to get food at the resort after 11pm. We went to bed without dinner that night. I highly recommend that you extend food services in this resort into the night.

3) Third time the front desk person had no clue if the Spa had a steam room or sauna and if hotel guests had to pay to use them.

Some other things of improvement include the Climate Control in our room. For some reason the temperature control wasn't working well. Our room went between muggy and very cold. When you put the temperature at 65 the air stayed constantly on. When putting the air on 67 it shuts off and doesn't come on. It clearly wasn't regulating. And if the air wasn't running the room/floor was humid and muggy and nothing dried in the bathroom. We wanted to leave the balcony door open but there isn't a screen.

I also found there is a lack of Entertainment on the resort. There should have been more music options and dancing available.

Overall the resort is such a beauty and the customer service is really top notch. Great resort for a quiet little escape. Once they work out the communication issues and maybe add entertainment options this place will truly be a strong resort.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit! The hotel is well run, clean, and with exceptional staff (both friendly and helpful). Lots of things to do at the hotel and in the area. Multiple pools means everyone can find a spot that suits them. I also highly recommend the tuna tartar appetizer.

Room tip: definitely worth it to pay for ocean view
