Description: On crossing the wooden bridge that leads to Ristorante Pappagallo, you will see swimming beneath there are sleek silvery tarpon, always on the lookout for scraps from the kitchen. You are thus, thrown into a world of the exotic, even before reaching the front door! Then, as you enter the spacious foyer, you're met at the front door by an African gray parrot, humorously called Humphrey Bogart. He is one of the oldest Pappagallo employees with over ten years experience in welcoming guests and posing for photos (especially with the little ones!). You will then immediately notice the inviting and well-stocked bar, decorated in an art deco style, where customers can take pre-dinner drinks or enjoy an after dinner drink in a cool and inviting atmosphere. On your right hand side, lies one of our two dining rooms, the Pappagallo Room. Inside, the impressive high ceiling will grab your attention, with its typical Mexican-style thatching. Wrought iron lights gently illuminate the air-conditioned room and huge glass-fronted bird cages feature all around the walls housing live parrots, macaws, cockatoos and African grays, all vying for your attention. The walls are also decorated with colorful pictures of parrots and a giant turtle shell which came from a 500 pound green sea turtle, which was raised in Cayman at West Bay's Turtle Farm. All this, and a great view of the waterfall cascading into the lagoon directly outside the room... how can you possibly forget that you are dining in a tropical paradise? On your left hand side of the foyer is the Flamingo Room, also with a fabulous thatched roof, this time in a traditional Cayman style. The entire roofing used 100,000 fronds and took over 6 months to construct - no mean feat. The Flamingo Room is left open to catch the cooling breeze, but is air-conditioned when the weather dictates. Here, you can enjoy a fabulous panoramic view over the lagoon. Large prints of flamingos decorate the walls and again, wrought iron lights lend their soft glow.Beyond this room lies a third eating area, the Garden Patio, a large screened- in porch where diners eat al fresco during the cooler winter months. This also has a magnificent lagoon view and Pappagallo usually caters for large parties & weddings here.

We had a wonderful meal at Ristorante Pappagallo - excellent pasta and fish - some of our favorites were Calamari, Lemoncella Tagliatelle, Queen Red Snapper, Pumpkin and Amaretto Ravioli.

We had dinner at Ristorante Pappagallo during our recent stay in Grand Cayman. While off the beaten path, the restaurant is well worth the trip. The location is amazing, especially at night. Tucked away in a small mangrove cove, it feels surreal when you walk in the front door. Our waiter was great. He had complete control of the meal while not being invasive. My wife had the spare ribs, they were outstanding. I had the lobster pasta, which was a bit heavy for my taste, but good nonetheless.

Lobster Ravioli in the lobster bisque sauce was amazing. Cleaned the plate with bread to get every bit of the sauce. The calamari was also delicious.

Coming from Chicago Little Italy and Buffalo/Niagara Falls it has to be outstanding Italian to make us happy and they do exactly that, outstanding meals. The staff was low key but attentive/non obtrusive but knew the food and their wines. A diverse wine list (Prisoner was excellent) the appetizers were plentiful to share. All dishes were hot and prepared carefully with excellent flavor and presentation. Short ribs fell off the bone, pasta was perfect al dente and desserts well done!!.

We ate here on Christmas Day and had a very nice time. I liked the atmosphere at the restaurant, very classic and like it had been there forever (in a good way). I had the lobster and it was delicious - the pasta it was served with was delicious too. Overall, I enjoyed our meal and would come back to this restaurant.
