“Nice flight bad delay”

The flight was totally OK for economy, the staff on board was nice and friendly, and passengers seemed to be inline with this. However before boarding we had to swallow a bitter pill by waiting over 4 hours with no indication of when our flight will start. Needless to say, no remuneration or beverages or anything else comforting the hassle was provided during the waiting time. 4 hours of precious time, that’s 240 minutes by the way. And 14400 seconds. That’s a lot. So be mindful if you are in a hurry: you will get your nice flight, but you may your money AND your time for that.

We had an attendant that was terrible. He was nice enough but slower than ...... well you know. We were in the air close to an hour before I could get a cup of coffee and we were in row 2! Pathetic. I would hate to see him if we had an emergency.

The flight to and from Punta Cana were both delayed about 1.5 hours. The WestJet app makes it easy to keep track of your flight and alerts you when there will be a delay. The flight attendants were courteous and pleasant. I normally fly WestJet when travelling to the Caribbean and would recommend their airline.

Smooth boarding. Wonderful leg room. Pleasant staff. I fly WestJet whenever possible. It has almost always been a good experience.

We were booked on flight 7147, we were told the flight got cancelled because of weather. The agent told us we wouldn't be able to get a flight until Sunday (2 days later), no excuse or explanation was given. After getting upset and being pregnant I was insistent upon getting an earlier flight, at which time she booked us on flight 1219, which was also cancelled at the last minute. We were told we would need to book a hotel and the next available flight would be Sunday, no compensation was offered for the hotel.
After insisting that we needed to fly out as soon as possible we were booked on flight 4220 later that night. Finally we were able to board a plane and fly to Toronto.
Once arriving in Toronto we waited in the airport for 11 hours for our connecting flight, at the last minute our flight was cancelled AGAIN. We waited in line for a long time before talking to an agent, we were then told we wouldn't be able to get a flight to Edmonton until Monday (2 more days wait). We were offered a voucher for taxi (which the driver wouldn't use, he demanded cash), part of the hotel bill and $45 per person for food for 2 days. We went to the hotel for a few hours and decided to go back to the airport to see if there was any openings on any flights to Edmonton, we spoke to 4 different agents who all told us there were no seats available, that we would need to wait until Monday. We spoke to the manager and were directed to an agent who was able to book us on a flight for an hour later. The plane left the terminal with 15 empty seats, why are they turning people away when there are so many empty seats?
