As US expats living in Mexico, we travel to/from the US and have used Volaris a number of times. Overall the service has been fine -- when you consider that even the "leading US airlines" have lowered the level of service they provide. Compared with their terrible service, Volaris doesn't seem so bad.
However the Volaris.com website is absolutely HORRENDOUSLY designed, wastes an enormous amount of customer's time and uses its confusing design to add charges. Advice: If booking online, WRITE DOWN the price you're quoted and if it is suddenly higher, step back to find where Volaris had you add insurance when you didn't intend to take it, or some other charge. Buyer beware!!!!

The price was phenomenal.... nothing else was. We were fine with the lack of creature comforts that most airlines provide, however, the flight attendants were inattentive, ignoring trash piling up, allowing children to run amok and disturb the passengers. Confirming your booking is a total nightmare, and is impossible to accomplish online. Fortunately the staff at the check- in desk was as helpful as the flight attendants weren’t. This particular flight is the only nonstop between these two cities, so I’d take it again, but for other routes it might be worth a few extra bucks to avoid the aggravation.
The plane was on time. The flight was good and the customer service was great. The hand luggage is wieghted and they will charge even for an extra few pounds. Overall, it is great price for the service.
Unlike traveling in AA or Aeromexico, where you deal with 50% delays all the time, In 4 trips this year on volaris all has been smooth. It is an economy airline but with better planes and more seat room that the above mentioned. The service is fine and The ability to know you'll arrive on time is priceless
I love taking Volaris when I go to Lake Chapala area. It is much cheaper than taking an American airline there. Great online booking and budget options. Hope they continue to expand their domestic and U.S. Routes!
