Review of United Airlines

Reviewed 29 August 2017

Travelled from Chicago to Los Angles via Florida. Professional and friendly staff. Smooth Ride. Moment I landed in Chicago I felt great with the great sight of freeways etc. Travel to Florida as well as back to Los Angeles via Chicago was great. Ride from Chicago to Los Angeles was smoother with great staff as well as passengers

Obviously some of the United staff read the brochure but not all. There were 3 people that smiled ... one in Harlingen and two in Orlando.

Quiet flight ... no real issues.

The 'snack' was interesting but that is true of all airlines. Food was passable.

Nothing really spectacular but I rally did not feel that I was a welcomed customer.

I will never fly with this airline again.
I last flew with them 30 years ago and I swear it was the same aircraft and same crew this time! We chose United because we were goign on to Canada and it offered the best connection with Air Canada flights out of LA. We paid extra for Premium Economy. Imagine our surprise when we were put in bulkhead seats next to a crying baby in the middle of Economy Class!!! Not dissing the travelling parents (I've been one of them) but let's be real here. Evidently the extra leg room offered by bulkhead seats is United's version of Premium Economy.
The crew were rude, the food was awful, the toilets weren't kept clean and my 15 year-ol daughter's entertainment system didn't work. When we brought this to the attention of a crew member, her response and attitide was one of "Oh. well. Suck it up".
See ya, United Airlines!

Despite the recent adverse press that United have received on the overbooking front, we found our recent flight to be on schedule, which is most important for us. We never heard of any grumblings by the other passenger and found the staff to be quite courteous. We flew three legs on our recent trip and experience the same end results on each. Surprisingly we found that the cost of first = business in Australian airlines Denver / New York and return to be around the same as the economy fares for
South West and Delta. Hence we treated ourselves!!

Both flights left on time and arrived on time. The second part of the flight (219) was on a Boeing 777 airplane. We were able to get seats in rows 47, 48 and 49. They do not cost extra and they have the advantage of being only 2 seats in the row. They are also close to the lavatory and galley. The WiFi was sporadic and the charging outlets did not work, BUT we were advised by the pilot to contact United to tell them about the problem. United has given us a $100 travel certificate towards a future flight taken within one year of date if issue.
